Elon Musk Is The REAL President Elect.

He's exercising such an all-reaching influence over American politics, already, that it's all too apparent.

A recent pic in The Guardian - not exactly highlighting Trump's best side - was such a physical contrast between the two men. Musk was looking healthy and confident (smug!) and accordingly powerful, but Trump looked all of his 79 years: sunken cheeks, fixed gaze, that strange orange/yellow complexion like advanced jaundice and in a recent publicity photo opportunity with Musk and Farage, Trump looked as if he was being propped up from behind.

Musk gives every outward sign that he's already the power behind the throne: Trump appears to be having a rare day out from his care home.

Just how much power do you think Biden has had? Do you honestly think he has been in control all this time? The only reason he has stayed in office is because it suits those who are pulling his strings.
None of these people act alone. They are all figureheads.
So long as Musk does what is right for America, surely that is all that matters? What a pity we don't have a leader who wants to do what is right for our country.

Absolutely.

Elon Musk has no more intention of doing what is 'right for America* than I have. He is only interested in doing right for Elon Musk. Power without responsibility has been the aim of every megalomaniac since time immemorial. He can never be president of the USA because he was not born there, but the speed with which he has cosied up to Trump has been impressive.

However just how long do you think a partnership of 2 narcissists like Trump and Musk will last? One of them intends to be Top Dog - and it can only be Trump as he will be President. Musk will stand beside Trump for as long as it is in his interests and no longer

Musk is already preparing his escape route by buying up the Reform party. Musk gives owt for nowt and will out manouvre Farage, bear in mind whoever pays the piper calls the tune.

I see Musk as being like a comet that appears and rushes through the sky, frighening primitive people with celstial based belief systems. In this case it is US and British citizens with celebrity based belief systems. He will fly through the sky in a brief blaze of glory and then disappear over the horizon never to be seen agaain.

I notice today Elon Musk has said that Chancellor Scholtz should resign following the terrorist attack in Germany.
What has it to do with him and why does he feel empowered to make these announcements?
This is what the future holds if he buys his way into Reform; interference from someone who has a great deal of knowledge about how to make an immense amount of money, and how to use it to buy people, and no understanding of the needs of an electorate.
He will get on well with Mandelson.

Mr Musk has views on lots of things - the Italian judiciary, for example.
He seems to feel that everyone needs to hear them and act on them, because being very rich makes him wise. I see no evidence of such a correlation; quite the reverse

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sat 21-Dec-24 09:01:30

Well considering there was a cover up about Biden’s senility from Day One (who’s been in charge behind the scenes then for the past four years?) I don’t see why we’re worrying.

Chocolatelovinggran Sat 21-Dec-24 09:07:14

And Mr Biden's views on the presidency of Germany/ the Italian judiciary/ the rioting nature of the British people are..?
I don't think he's felt qualified to share them, perhaps because he doesn't feel omniscient.
I fear Mr Musk's utterly immovable self belief.

Meanwhile, the changes that Musk insisted on to the Federal Bill have been voted down, so he is not yet going to have it all his own way.

I love the drama of your last paragraph however I do not like the insults you have thrown at UK and US citizens..

I don't understand your statement. Musk is not the elected leader, not the President.

Well said
And megalomaniac is the right description.

I find the situation in the USA quite astonishing. Have we ever seen anything like this before?

nanna8 Sat 21-Dec-24 11:06:22

They’re different in the US. More so than our European cousins. America, unfortunately, calls the shots where defence is concerned. I suppose that is marginally better than it would be with some other countries.

I posted quite a bit about Elon on the other Elon thread. But here is why Elon thi is the German Chancellor should step down.

imaround Sat 21-Dec-24 17:06:16

Sorry, had trouble adding the image

imaround Sat 21-Dec-24 17:08:08

Ugh. So much trouble posting. It is now only posting parts of my posts.

Elon supports the Afd in Germany. That is why he wants the Chancellor to step down.

It seems as if the USA changes from one difficult leader to the next. If I correctly recall - Reagan Alzheimer's, Kennedy & Clinton serial philanderers, Eisenhower useless, Nixon up for impeachment, Bush senseless wars, now faux leader Elon -- USA seem to always have something odd happening.

Out of a population of how many?
346,290,621

It's quite astonishing, isn't it.

imaround Sat 21-Dec-24 17:47:06

You know why this is? Because billionaires are paying the bills. We get who the billionaires want.

Two wrongs don’t make a right

Wyllow3 Sat 21-Dec-24 18:31:26

I just can't see Trump continuing to be happy with someone else calling the shots for too long.

Musk's arrogance seems to have no bounds. Talk about power corrupting absolutely. True to form with the statement on Germany.

imaround Sat 21-Dec-24 18:37:14

Trump is big mad because people are calling Musk the President.

Hopefully they break up soon, though I don't think so. Musk has what Trump wants. Billions of dollars. Trump has what Musk wants, the power to allow Musk to make MORE money via government defense contracts.

It is mutually beneficial to them both and their hangers on. The people of the world will lose.

M0nica Sat 21-Dec-24 19:02:11

Why should being a serial philanderer stop anyone from becoming President of the USA?

Iam64 Sat 21-Dec-24 19:03:38

Well….. it hasn’t so far MOnica
