Every year there is controversy over the honours list, every year there is the predictable articles from certain newspapers when someone who doesn't fit their model gets honoured. I was happy to see Gareth Southgate and Stephen Fry get their awards, and do think that Sadiq Khan deserves his; he does a great deal for London, some of it controversial of course, but unless we want London to be a grid locked, stinking, fume clogged city, some of his measures are necessary.
We send a minimum of two loaded vans into London five days a week, 50 weeks a year.
I can assure you that anywhere within the M25 (all of which now covered by ULEZ) is invariably grid locked . Central London roads are still stationary most of the day, and still extremely fume clogged.
Sir Khan hasn’t banned polluting vehicles, just put the charges up for them.
