Patrick Hurley, Southports MP, has put in a request already saying the sentence is unduly lenient and does not reflect the severity of the crimes. Good on him.
It’s been a while so I will start us off…….whats for supper and why?

The court heard today that he said he was "so glad... so happy" the children were dead
Rudakubana repeatedly shouted in court that he is ill, and his lawyer tells the court that Rudakubana hasn't eaten or drunk for some time
On Monday, he also admitted producing ricin, possessing terrorist material, and possessing a knife
.
Frankly I don’t give much for his chances in prison - is that wrong of me?
And if he hasn’t eaten or drunk “for some time “ he may be doing us all a favour 🤬🤬🤬🤬

Sago
I want to know why he targeted that particular event.
He will have a miserable time in prison, he has nowhere to hide.
I think he is just pure evil and beyond help.
How do his poor parents cope knowing what their son has done?
He targeted it because he knew it would be a room full of defenceless little girls

Its a hard one....you can't give a whole life sentence to an under 21 ....thats the law....so you have to work round that
Reports say the ricin found under his bed was “enough to kill 12,500 people”. Frightening.
He could have had 80 years maybe.
He's completely deranged.
Think he should be in Broadmore.
I want to know why he chose that event as well. I want to know how he knew that event was there . It's a mainly residential road and this building hosts yoga and dance classes. There's another business in the building. It's so unknown.
My family, friends, none of us knew this existed. I'm guessing a Facebook post maybe advertised if but it's true that people were very surprised..
I think the 52 is OK. He's not going to get freed in 52 years, just might go for parole. Doubtful he'll ever be free.
I don't want to think about him. I don't care what happens to him. What he's done to beautiful tiny girls, their families, school friends, witnesses, the police and ambulance crew.
He'll probably be in solitary. It won't be fun. All good in my opinion.
According to the news report I’ve heard today, he saw the event advertised on Instagram.

Broadmoor is a hospital I believe. We don’t want him there because he will be entitled to all his benefits. I don’t want him getting money or extras.

Ah, thank you Lizzie Drip.
'I hope the prison wardens develop a hearing problem when he is torn apart by other prisoners'
What a terrible thing to say. Two wrongs do not make a right.
This lad was someone's newborn baby and much cherished son once. Something has gone horrendously wrong.
I am very very sorry for the parents of those lovely little girls but this terrible tragedy affects so many people. The poor parents of the lad who did it.

We don't know what his parents are like.

This lad was someone's newborn baby and much cherished son once.
How do you know that?
Not all babies and children are loved and cherished, sadly.
Although I will say in the earlier videos he had made with other children, he looked quite a happy child.
The sentence is for 52 years. I have not seen how this was decided yet.
Why are concurrent sentences given for multiple murders and not consecutive sentences just because the murders are related or carried out at the same time?
If consecutive sentences were given then these murderers would never leave prison.
52 years is not a lenient sentence. I listened to the judge explaining his reasons for the length of the sentences and the tiny reductions were because of the age and late guilty plea. It is unlikely that he will ever be released. I wish I hadn't listened to the judge listing the details of the awful attacks because now I can't unhear them. Those poor families of the dead girls and of the injured children who survived have been through hell.
Seeing the photographs of his room and the family living room is shocking, his parents must have known their son was deranged.
How can decent people live like that?
I have so many questions about the family now.

I look forward to hearing how much his parents knew and what they could have done to prevent this. I have read that on a previous occasion his father stopped a taxi driver from taking him away, so the next time, when the offences were committed, the son ordered a taxi after he had left home. It’s clear that the father, at least, had some idea of what his son might do. A terrible position in which to put a parent, but we will in due course learn more of his possible culpability.
He will never come out of prison. He is this generation's Hindley and Brady, no Home Secretary will ever let him out.
He’s got what he deserved, at least as far as the law would allow. This heinous crime was committed a few days before his eighteenth birthday, so he couldn’t receive a whole life tariff, but the judge has done his best, he’s given him until he’s seventy. If he’s still alive, he probably won’t be thought fit to be released then. He may not survive that long, if he doesn’t kill himself or starve himself to death, one or more of the other prisoners may well get him.
The BBC showed a picture of knives lying around in the living room of the house, and more knives upstairs in his bedroom. What I wonder, did the parents know of all this?
I wonder about his upbringing and his home life. Will we ever know I wonder.
A prison superintendent was interviewed on tv. That evil monster will be getting a very rough time in prison
The parents may also have explaining to do, the mother signed for the knife, knowing that her son was planning murder
Good grief. His mother is complicit in these appalling killings if that’s what happened.
I too think his parents have questions to answer. That said this cannot become a witch hunt. Maybe they did contact the authorities and relevant agencies?
PREVENT seems pretty useless.
Time to disband it I think. Put the money to better use elsewhere.
So many questions there too.
I watched the woman from Prevent on the news at 6. She did not inspire me with confidence at all. Wishy washy. I wonder how they get these jobs.
This article tells us pretty much everything known about his life from 11 re home, school, and contact with services, ad a certain amount about his parents trying to get services to intervene.
Very informative read.

NB. re the knife - "He was carrying a 20cm-long kitchen knife purchased on Amazon on 13 July. Police say he used encryption software to conceal his identity when he bought it."
