as he agrees to deliver a massive number of bombs for the IDF- so they can clear the country.

Are they planning the Ben Gurrion Canal yet- was it was this is all about, as some suspected a long time ago.

Call me cynical andpessimistic. Where on earth are they supposed to go?

jumping the fun - wow, maddy.

You do realise that if this goes ahead, the whole world will condemn, and turn against those who support this. What he says is as clear as can be.

IF it goes ahead
Well, you seem to be agreeing with maddyone 🙂

I think some of you might be jumping the gun. Perhaps we should see how things develop before getting over excited about what will probably never happen.

Then you said
IF it goes ahead

Trump is full of bluff and bluster. He presents outrageous worst-case, extreme scenarios, gets everyone uptight and annoyed then concedes somewhat so other countries then agree and think they've won.

Yes, I agree with Maddy and Allira

Confusing to have 2 threads on it, have posted on the other one.

One lone voice of reason. 👏👏👏

Isn’t it Trump who is jumping the gun? His mission seems to be to upset the whole world in one way or another.

Psychological warfare.

I agree, it’s a business tactic, claim you want a lot and settle for what you know you can get afterwards.
Who knows what DT says is really serious or not, but it’s true that Gaza needs bulldozing and then rebuilding for much of it, so will the people want to live in tents for years while it gets done? And who will do the rebuilding? Israel won’t while hamas are still there.
As David49 says, two million people ( less than a lot of single cities have) can’t be self sustaining so do the Palestinians there want to have life in a tent and then reliant on aid for everything? I think given the chance I would relocate elsewhere as soon as possible.

That’s just silly Whitewavemark2 and I had expected ( it seems wrongly) better of you.

Oreo Wed 05-Feb-25 16:42:34

I was thinking along the lines of China, Russia and the Canadians where the supply of Fentanyl goes through the border.

Oreo Wed 05-Feb-25 16:44:49

By getting tough on both Canada and Mexico Trump has achieved something without having to impose a whopping tariff. There’s method in his madness.

Annie, why would he say it if he doesn't plan exactly that- and has been planning with Netanyahu behid the scenes for a very long time

Tragically, the rest of the world will condemn all those who support him, and very many who do not. Tragically, it is Jews who will be blamed (whether they support hm or not) and this is what so many Israeli Jews and other around the world, have been fearing as they watched this diabolical genocide.

method in his madness in helping to finalise a genocide and take over of a foreign land. Do you actually believe what you actually write. Do you think beforehand- or do you actually support this genocide?

Those who support him will have to account for themselves one day, I wouldn't like to be in their place.

Can’t you read my posts properly Claremont?
I mention Canada and Mexico and the proposed tariffs.
There’s method is no mention of anything else.
Do you think beforehand?

Casdon Wed 05-Feb-25 16:54:45

I think he thinks there is method, but he has underestimated the backlash of each of his methods when he has implemented them so far. He now looks incompetent to the rest of the world. Canada for example have conceded nothing they weren’t already doing, the tariffs China is going to impose will hit the USA hard, and he has upset the Arab nations over Gaza, I don’t see countries forgiving or forgetting this strong arming.

Oreo Wed 05-Feb-25 16:58:22

I don’t think DT is doing anything more than talking and tossing ideas about.
There may be some Gazan families who want to get out ( not two million of them tho) and if any country offered to take them am sure some would go.Will any country offer? Probably not.

Oreo Wed 05-Feb-25 17:00:51

I read that Canada have promised to do better about drugs at the border, facing tariffs concentrate minds.
DT is a businessman more than a politician and knows to start asking a lot to get a good deal.

Oreo Wed 05-Feb-25 17:01:54

Am not a fan of DT but he doesn’t do everything wrong.

petra Wed 05-Feb-25 17:02:59

He will never stop Fentanyl coming into the US.
Most of it is posted in.
It is a massive business in China despite the fact that it’s banned in China.
If you know how you can go online, speak to the dealer and arrange payment and delivery.

Have actually read anything at all this week?

It seems not

Casdon Wed 05-Feb-25 17:08:14

The long term issue I think is going to be the reputational damage to the USA being caused. The strongest country in the world isn’t the strongest if everybody turns against them. It’s not hard to foresee countries boycotting American goods and finding new suppliers and customers.

Aren’t world leaders supposed to engage their brains before they open their mouths? Or in this new world of post truth politics and populism perhaps brains are no longer regarded as necessary.

Oreo Wed 05-Feb-25 17:40:38

It’s not all world leaders Maybee40 just DT who tends to say whatever’s in his head about a subject.
