as he agrees to deliver a massive number of bombs for the IDF- so they can clear the country.

Are they planning the Ben Gurrion Canal yet- was it was this is all about, as some suspected a long time ago.

Call me cynical andpessimistic. Where on earth are they supposed to go?

That excuses Hamas, yet again , if true

No, it doesn't! I'm not excusing Hamas' atrocities. Israel is aware that Hamas is a threat, which is why it defends itself so well. There was a breakdown in security and intelligence. Two senior Israeli army officers took responsibility and resigned.

Some go further than that. Why was there a 'breakdown' in security, after all the warnings of an imminent attack, and with all the security cameras and very precise arms and drones able to protect the whole fence.

Some will say, Netanyahu wanted the attack to take place- and we all know why. Many Israeli Jews say this.

Because she just repeats the same on a loop- no compassion, no empathy, no intention at all of ever considering the pain, and yes, the genocide, of another people.

According to this account there has never been a proper inquiry reporting as yet. Some details on that here from a week ago (Reuters)

So not land but wipe out all Palestinians?

Really? How did Hamas capture hostages, invade Israel 7th
October 2023 ?

Because there was a security breakdown. Senior officers didn't listen to their juniors, who had spotted increased activity.

Security breakdown or not.

Hamas are guilty of the most unspeakable atrocities.

Hamas head honchos knew full well that Israel would react with all that was available to them.

Hamas protected its fighters, not the civilian population.

Israel protects it’s citizens.

And some on here ignore Hamas’s continued vow to wipe every Jew off of the face of the Earth.

Anniebach Mon 27-Jan-25 15:37:45

Seems again Israel deserves that attack. How can anyone defend Hamas ?

There is never a proper enquiry into anything or, if there is we never hear what the result was. What was the result of the enquiry into the death of that poor little girl sat in a car full of dead people phoning for help; weren’t the medics who went to rescue her shot dead too? Always ‘there will be an enquiry’ and nothing ever comes of it sad. It’s as if these deaths are of no importance.

Claremont Mon 27-Jan-25 15:42:09

Here is an article about the real questions as to how many warnings re an imminent attack were ignored. And how Netanyahu has continued to refuse any official enquiry about those failures, that led to the most Senior military officers to resign.

All unnecessary deaths are tragic MayBee70

There is a war in the Middle East, and it is always the innocent people who are killed.

As I posted up thread, Israel protects its citizens, Hamas chose to protect its fighters and sod the population.

I agree.. Claremont.. it appals me

Anniebach Mon 27-Jan-25 15:44:50

Why should Israel hold an enquiry asking why they didn’t defend themselves from terrorist attacks ? unbelievable

Yes that is, they want to do the same as was attempted in the
Holocaust, wipe all Jews from the earth.

They have a cat in hell's chance of doing that. Meanwhile, they have more of a reason to resent them than they already had.

Yes, sadly this is the truth. The actions of Neatanyahu and the IDF, and the genocide we have all witnessed, and that the whole Arab Muslim world has witnessed - has done just this.

Wyllow3 Mon 27-Jan-25 15:52:14

Empathy asks, can it be considered that the tens of thousands of Palestinians who have crossed the border on the long walk to former homes in northern Gaza only want to live safe lives too,

Without us over here shooting "Hamas" everytime its asked for consideration of their lives too.

Wyllow3 despite my opinion that the current situation is entirely of Hamas’s doing.

I have empathy for the innocent Palestinians, I am also angry on their behalf that the government of Gaza had no provisions to protect them.

petra Mon 27-Jan-25 16:04:50

I can’t see anything wrong in having an enquiry that would expose any weaknesses I might have in my defence system 🤷‍♀️

Smileless2012 Mon 27-Jan-25 16:15:22

Why is it unbelievable Annie? Surely those who lost family and friends in such a horrific attack deserve to know if those in power, by ignoring the information they were given, failed to protect them.

Anniebach Mon 27-Jan-25 16:22:41

Unbelievable that any country should be criticised for terrorists
attacking it

Oreo Mon 27-Jan-25 16:24:27

Claremont how about peddling your conspiracy theories elsewhere, especially doing it today is reprehensible.
There’s bound to be an inquiry into what went wrong and how did the hamas ba*****ds manage to stay under the radar but after this conflict is finally over, which it isn’t yet.You don’t seriously expect it to happen while Israel is dealing with hamas and hezbollah.

Oreo Mon 27-Jan-25 16:26:40

Wyllow3 you are joking? The government of Gaza is a bunch of terrorists, they don’t care about the people and still don’t.

Excellent point.
If loved ones of mine were killed on Oct 7th and there was even a remote possibility that security in that area was lax, I would want a thorough investigation.
That would in no shape or form mean that I would blame the government rather than Hamas for the massacre but as with the terrible killings of the children in Southport I would want to know if certain failings contributed to the killings taking place.

Anniebach Mon 27-Jan-25 16:41:54

Find out if security was lax but not point a finger ? Sorry not possible

Maremia Mon 27-Jan-25 17:07:25

I wonder what the American Arabs for Trump now feel about his comments?

Maremia Mon 27-Jan-25 17:12:40

There is a lot of 'chatter' about how did the Israeli authorities miss the signs of of the impending attack. If that is they case, they were not 'lax', they were negligent.

Babs03 Mon 27-Jan-25 17:29:11

The elephant in the room of course is that Palestinians have a homeland, they don't need to move in with neighbours. Just because they are Arabs doesn't mean they should be happy to leave their homeland and live in another country peopled by Arabs. And Trump can say all he likes about Gaza being a bomb site so the Palestinians need to get out in order for the strip to be rebuilt, to Palestinians that means get out and stay out, there will be no right to return.
