Honestly, I don’t think anyone could make this up.

Hope this link works

Sometimes things gt so ludicrous that a spoof is best.

Illinois Governor (Dem, Pritzker) did a spoof video annoucement

“After Donald Trump’s Department of Justice sued the state of Illinois for allegedly ‘obstructing’ its enforcement of immigration laws, its governor JB Pritzker took aim at the recently inaugurated US President’s foreign and domestic policies with a “special announcement” on Friday (February 7).

This “announcement” was actually a video mocking the Republican, posted on Pritzker’s personal X / Twitter account as opposed to his official governor account, no doubt to avoid any confusion.

you can watch the video in this reference

www.indy100.com/politics/trump-illinois-pritzker-greenland-gulf

“In the “announcement”, Pritzker says: “The world’s finest geographers, experts who study the Earth’s natural environment, have concluded a decades long council and determined that a Great Lake deserves to be named after a great state.

So today I’m issuing a proclamation declaring that hereinafter, Lake Michigan shall be known as Lake Illinois.

The proclamation has been forwarded to Google to ensure the world’s maps reflect this momentous change

(Plus more spoofs which reference Trump declarations on annexing Greenland etc )

JudyBloom Trump and Farage the best choice for free speech, freedom and democracy? What's happening is the exact opposite because Trump is reading from the Hitler playbook.
I guess you didn't bother to read the link above. Perhaps you and others who believe what you write should be the ones to wake up. That's all!

Stop believing the rumours, purposely sent out to try and upset the apple cart. In the long view, Trump and Farage are the best choice when it comes to free speech, freedom and democracy. It seems some people have yet to wake up to the fact we are in even more decline with the tyrants we have in power here in the UK allowing the unelected quangos to rule and that the Biden administration ruined America, things can only get better in the long run. Everyone has faults but weigh up all the pros and cons and you will find that Trump and Farage are by far the best leaders, they are strong enough to stand up to the global tyrants who want to rule the world. That's all!

I respect your right to view your own beliefs and views, but sadly that’s all they are Judy

It doesn’t matter which govt is in power in the UK frankly, we are little nobody islanders, some of whom have big egos and think we still have powers over our last empires (which were not ours in the first place)

Be afraid, be very afraid!

I have had to accept that there will always be people who refuse to see truth, even when you feed it to them.

That is how the US got into this mess.

The real puzzle is why? Find an answer to that and we could save the world😄😄😄.

Although it isn’t really funny.

WW3

It’s kind of funny, in the way a darkly black comedy is!

Whenever I hear Trump speak he sounds like a 5 year old, not so much for what he is saying but the simplistic words and phrases he continually uses, like, “it’s bad, very very bad” or .*he/she are boring, very very boring” or “he is so dumb, very very dumb”

It’s as though the full grasp of the English language is beyond Mr Bigly, Fake News POTUS.

One has to laugh it’s better than crying 😢

Remember the Bob Dylan song Only a Pawn in the Game? nothing has really moved on since then. One verse:

‘The deputy sheriffs, the soldiers, the governors get paid
And the marshals and cops get the same
But the poor white man's used in the hands of them all like a tool
He's taught in his school
From the start by the rule
That the laws are with him
To protect his white skin
To keep up his hate
So he never thinks straight
'Bout the shape that he's in
But it ain't him to blame
He's only a pawn in their game’

The victim!

While not a scientific study, over the last 9 years, I have come to realize there are generally 3 groups of people.

Those who barely follow what is happening, read the headlines, and form an opinion based in their bias. They honestly believe nothing bad is happening and if we just wait, it will get better.

Those who agree with what Trump is doing, enjoys the cruelty of what is happening and gets quite gleeful when bad things happen to others. This is the bulk of hard core MAGA.

Those who have voted R their whole lives and will continue to vote R no matter who the candidate is.

The other thing I have learned is that in the majority of cases, nothing you say or do will help these people see the truth, so it is best to leave them to it for one's own peace of mind.

Well, I am pretty sure that once Trump has the UK in his sights and decides to bully our government into making our lives more difficult in order to further Trump's agenda, those presently singing his praises will fall silent.
Trump is not attempting to make anyone's lives better simply because he has a hardline approach to migrants and promotes white supremacy, there are many white people over there as well as over here who will not benefit from this, indeed their lives will be made harder due to Trump's foreign policies ramping up the cost of living. His policies only benefit the top 1% in the US, and of course himself.

what an extraordinary comment

I know it is hard for some people to grasp, but what Trump is doing has already affected you.

What do we think will happen when the people who are starving are migrating because Trump has cut off international aid supplies? Where are they headed? What about when he starts a war in GAZA?

What happens when Trump gets mad at Zelinski when he won't sign over the rights to Ukraines natural resources and he allows Putin to take over Ukraine?

What medical treatment won't be investigated because Trump just cut billions of dollars in Federal grants for research spending at universities because they are "woke"?

Everything he does will create a ripple of effects around the world, even if it doesn't target a certain country yet.

Babs03 Sun 09-Feb-25 15:50:09

I am reminded of certain lyrics to 'The Boxer' by Simon and Garfunkel when thinking of those who wear blinkers when following Trump/Farage

"I have squandered my resistance for a pocketful of mumbles
Such are promises
All lies and jest
Still a man hears what he wants to hear
And disregards the rest."

Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency is an unelected quango.

Considering his views on Canada, Mexico, the Panama Canal and Gaza he's looking precisely like a global tyrant who wants to rule the world.

Is anyone more 'unelected' than MUSK?

vintage1950 Mon 10-Feb-25 16:12:14

Is Musk legally authorised to do what he is doing?

The man is drunk on power, (along with his BFF, Musk); talk about loose cannons. Gilead isn't looking so far fetched now 🙄
