Brexit is not done, it never was (and that is the very point of the OP). Nobody knew what it was at the time, and nobody knows now either. What we do know, is that it is affecting all sectors of the UK very badly, and each and every one of us- in so many ways. And is a financial disaster.

Border controls for goods of poor quality, possible danger to health and to our agriculture, are coming in without any checks.

Cheap comment about the French eating horses. Now I could not eat horse, nor can I eat rabbits. But I'd be the first to put my hand up to this not makinh sense, and even, be hypocritical. Because a horse feels the same terror and pain at the abbatoir as a calf, or any other meat animal.

Btw, the Tories did have a little longer than 8 months to resolve all the issues surrounding Brexit and immigration.

When a report in a newspaper says ‘the prime minister has been urged’ that implies wishful thinking on behalf of the writer of the article, not a fact that the prime minister has said he will do, or possibly even a glint in his eye. It just means the author thinks he should do it.

I feel rather sorry for people whose lives are so bland and boring that they are constantly harking back to their glory days around Brexit. How long ago was it? Must be at least a decade. The rest of us have moved on with our lives and get our excitements from things that have happened more recently.

Brexit is done, its over, it is now a yawn. Why not sign up for a further eductation course learning how to crochet or somethng exciting like that.

I often find that people who spend their time seeking "excitements" pass through life missing the real point of everything, even the simple, creative pleasures like crafts or holding politicians to account.

Its just what I read in the papers, about human eights lawyers using the Courts as a tool so that the UK cannot legally deport immigrants who should not be here if they have committed crimes etc as it would be against their human rights. I have read articles about this by Richard Littlejohn who has put this issue much more succinctly than
I ever could. I agree with his every word.

What always makes me wonder about those who say that we should realise that Brexit is 'done' (it isn't by any standard) and 'get over it' is that some of them never 'got over' the original vote to join what became the EU. Double standards perhaps?

There are lots of ways where those ghastly effects can be improved and even stopped. Why should we not strive to limit those ghastly effects. Isn't that what Democracy is all about?

Boris was SUCH a disappointment. Well apart from immediately sanctioning tanks for the Ukrainians (when Germany were sending helmets remember?). Also recalling the ‘Boris’ cakes and the statue of him the Ukrainian people erected in his honour.

Democracy is accepting that the majority voted to leave.

But in a Democracy, a decision is never forever. Which is why we have regular elections. In a decision turns out to be a disaster on all fronts (and that it was rigged and manipulated, and had a tiny percentage in favour), then we all have a democratical right to re-consider, and find ways to limit damage. Democracy, and sheer common sense and intelligence.

I agree the Telegraph article does seem a bit premature although nowhere does it say it's actually going to happen. I'd rather see us removed from the jurisdiction of ECHR when we can't deport rapists and other serious law breakers. Brexit has never been fully implemented because the Tories were divided and never really wanted it. This is a major factor in the rise of Reform.

Anyhow, it is totally wrong to have a Referendum without clearly setting out exactly what is consists of, and the likely pros and cons. Yes or no to something which is not defined, is just absolute nonsense.

Claremont a referendum is a huge decision democratically. It’s not something to chop and change over such as the government of the day. It was a bigger topic which is why it generated such massive voter engagement. A huge percentage of voters turned out at the polling stations because they knew their vote mattered.

A slim win is still a win. Sorry.

And as we all know (deep down) opportunities were not seized because basically the politicians of all stripes didn’t want it, nor did the civil servants. Indeed in the HoC great efforts were made (Bercow, indicative bluddy motions by Grieve, Green et al and Jo Swinson - fool - pledging to just ignore the vote if she won) to thwart the whole momentum. No wonder many of the public, although now resigned to Brexit never being implemented as good as it could have been if we’d been braver, are disappointed.

It wasnt meant for that purpose but that is what it is being used for.

Do you always buy the cheapest clothes, then, FGT regardless of how long it will stay usable, or whether it is made of flammable material? Or the cheapest food, constructed of gristle, fat, and the scrapings from bones, thickened with "non-nutritional filler"? I don't suppose you do - it doesn't sound like your taste.

Europe is in so much trouble and nearly all of it is self inflicted. Ending the war in Ukraine will no doubt change fortunes (although the fallout will be huge), but I wonder when it will finally twig that welfare dependency, mass immigration, high taxes and the cost of climate nonsense are to blame?

Elegran the Kite mark still exists and British Companies who care about their reputation and quality of goods can apply to the British Institute to obtain one provided they meet certain criteria.
