I was very encouraged by his speech. The Democrats reacted like sulky children.

I think you must be Al glasshalffullagain posting to stir up dis satisfaction🤣

...or his puppet masters care about girls in norther towns...

You do realise that one of the people called out for being Trumps puppet master, (remember the reports that EM is really the President?) Namely Elon Musk has been criticised for calling out to the world, the terrible situation that has been happening to working class girls in the North?

So if you believe EM is calling the shots, it doesn't fit with your narrative.

It's been happening since at least the 70's.
Can you name anyone abroad who has said anything over that period?
You'd be hard pressed to find someone here in the UK who has been allowed/
Interested enough to battle through the disinterest of our political class, let alone another country.

I'm vèy interested in who you think Trumps masters are though?

OK Namsnanny if you believe that Donald Trump cares about the rights of women, that’s your prerogative. I’m not trying to convince you one way or the other.

I believe that he absolutely does not. My belief is not based on my dislike of the man; it’s based on his words and actions.

I don't know if he cares about women's rights or not.

His actions shows he cares (if only from a political stand point), that the rights of some men should not take away the rights of ALL children and women to expect safety in prisons, sports, schools, hospitals, speech etc.

I have no problem with Trump's removing men from women's sport. None whatsoever.

But my views on him don't come down to one thing or the rest. It's possible to support one policy out of several without buying into any of the others. So many people seem unable to grasp that.

It is possible to support one policy out of several wothout buying into the others...

My point precisely, but said with so much more eloquence.

A key part of Bernie Sanders inspiring and truth telling speech was on the absolutely vital role of Medicaid and what cuts are about to befall. He gave a figure of 800 billion and I thought, "surely thats OTT".

But no.

"A budget resolution adopted Tuesday by House Republicans could jeopardize the health insurance coverage of millions of low-income and disabled people who rely on Medicaid if lawmakers follow through with their proposed spending cuts, experts warn.

The budget plan instructs the Energy and Commerce Committee, which oversees Medicaid, to identify at least $880 billion in mandatory spending cuts over the next 10 years. The savings are expected to be used to extend President Donald Trump’s 2017 tax cuts, which are set to expire at the end of this year."

www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/medicaid-cover-congress-proposed-budget-cuts-felt-rcna193897

Now, people already struggle to get even low levels of care in many areas, and fail to get the most serious conditions treated.

Trump has already cut health research and this includes cancer research.

There was a little known Trump "stunt" event as part of Congress last night - it is outlined in this Daily Mail article

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14462819/trump-brain-cancer-child-honorary-secret-service-agent.html

I'm not going to quote it as its sheer bad taste imo - when the cuts in Medicaid are as huge and the effects on serious conditions loom large, Trump pulls publicity stunt using a young kid. 😡

Elon Musk called out the Northern rape gangs ostensibly because he feels not enough has been done to investigate this.
His opinion and probs the opinion of others
But his silence when Trump intervened to get the Tate brothers released from a jail in Romania speaks volumes. And in case you are not aware the Tate brothers have been sex trafficking minors, same as the Northern rape gangs. Now they are back on in the US.
The difference is the Tate brothers are white.
So can you join the dots up yet?

BBC News - Fact-checking Trump's address to Congress
www.bbc.com/news/articles/cp3ylpd2n9no

I do like a bit of fact checking. I now know how Trump addressed the problem of the high price of eggs. He fired the officials who were looking into the government's response to bird flu.
Thank you for those links, Wyllow. American women surely won't stand for this assault on their right to health care.

If AT has been convicted of trafficking, I've missed that.
Perhaps you can point me in the direction of the court case?

Without the relevant information I find it hard to comment.
But will be glad to, when I can.

With the exception that the amount of girls affected, let alone their families in the North ( but now accepted ALL cities in England at least) the numbers far outway any yet revealed sex crime.
So from that perspective and from the perspective of how long it went on for, and still is, is shocking.

I cannot comment on your understanding that being white has saved AT as his father is black.

Have I read your connect the dots comments correctly?

You believe Trump helped an American citizen (I'm afraid I am woefully ignorant of what T actually did for AT) because he is white?

But as I said I was under the opinion he has a black father?

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Yes, getting rid of men ( transwomen) from womens sports was the one good thing he has done so far.
Other things, not so much!😖

Do read this Namsnanny because it also states how Musk helped the Tate brothers.
I have no idea if their father is black but of course Musk has many prejudices, he isn’t just a white supremacist but an Islamophobe, which also plays into his interest in highlighting what occurred with the northern rape gangs.

Wyllow3 Wed 05-Mar-25 15:36:04

Well I've given you "relevant information" namsnanny on your questioning the lack of information Womens' Health Care.

But you brought AT ethnicity into the conversation!!

You made the accusation that being white made T behave in a certain way.

That is outrageous.

Not because you are accusing Trump, say what you like about prominent figures, some people get too caught up in the rhetoric to be able to see straight. I get that.

But you said and I quote join the dots!!!

The only dots I've managed to join are the ones pointing to someone who is only too quick to play silly racist games without any real understanding or knowledge of the subject matter they are dealing with.

Not with standing, a FACT you should have been aware of at the start of your post is that AT has a black father.

So forgive me if I find anything you say or post or link a little biased and unhelpful to say the least.

Nazir Afsal? Maggie Oliver? Those behind Three Girls?

This is at the heart of why people like T do well. This " it's not fair" mentality combined with a dose of racism.

All of a sudden the POTUS and the Facist wade in to the rescue of abused white girls? I think not.

Oh and just to be crystal clear the whole rape gang thing is an abomination.

US stock market in free fall due to crippling tariffs issued to China, Mexico, and Canada, that will come right back to bite ordinary Americans.
Hundreds of thousands of federal workers without jobs.
The POTUS cosying up to Putin in order to grab a deal over minerals whilst throwing Ukraine under the bus, thereby threatening the security of Europe.
Plans to make Gaza into a Trump themed resort.
Plans to take over Canada and Greenland.

And the OP cites men not being in women’s sports. Pretty soon I think that will be the very least of our worries.

I agree with every word you said here @Babs03

I really do t care what your opinion is if me namsnanny, that is irrelevant, it is your opinion of Musk I am concerned about.
Which is why I posted the link.
Would be interested to hear your opinions on that rather than about me

Maremia Wed 05-Mar-25 16:43:35

Babs03, good points.
In that 90 minutes of nonsense at least there was one good outcome, we won't have to deal with 'transgender' frogs any more. Did nobody edit his speach for him? But I suppose to him 'transgenetic' sounds the same as 'transgender'.

Babs03 Wed 05-Mar-25 16:43:36

ooops... speech

Maremia Wed 05-Mar-25 16:47:47

Ninety minutes and not a word about the high costs of prescriptions, the housing crisis, homelessness, or the proposed 880 BILLION cut to Medicare. But he'll sort out those frogs, and those folk over 150 still claiming benefit.

The Tate brothers are mixed race and have an African-American father, now deceased and a British mother.

Hence the dual American and British nationality.

Galaxy Wed 05-Mar-25 18:14:37

The thing is if you pretend that men can become women, I dont trust you on any issue, in the same way if you declared the earth was flat I probably would have concerns about your ability to run the economy, etc, etc. Its about the fact that 'you' have made me believe that you will say absolutely anything. If you say that men are women then why would I not think your next step might be to deny the existence of gravity. But hey carry on, this issue destroys every political party it touches but that hasnt stopped anyone so far.

Galaxy Wed 05-Mar-25 18:21:16

Oh and if you are watching carefully people are back pedalling like crazy, some of the most aggressive supporters of men in womens spaces, are now saying they were wrong (or rather they are pretending they never said that in the first place). The situation changed some time ago in this country and in parts of Europe, particularly in relation to children and medical intervention relating to gender. America is at a different stage to us in this debate I think.

Kandinsky Wed 05-Mar-25 18:27:33

Exactly.
