Had Trump rattled the tiger's cage?

Chocolatelovinggran Sat 08-Mar-25 14:05:55

* Earthmother* I fear that Mr Trump has plans to change this trifling matter....

Recent reports have shown that large numbers of Americans want to leave the country rather than come to it. If people do leave the country it will be a Brain drain, where the best, talented and most capable people want to leave. If they do leave it could hit America hard, resulting in America becoming like North Korea.

Trump isn't a good business man, many of his businesses going bankrupt. Which is why he turned his hand to grifting.

wibblywobblywobblebottom Sat 08-Mar-25 15:12:45

If you really think that you are seriously deluded. Or have you caught the lying bug from Trump.

Whoever said Trump supporters are in the minority over here, look again. The Republicans won the election fair and square. Trump is a strong leader, and we certainly need him against China, because, as has been said on here already, is the real threat.

In opinion Trump has played an absolute blinder! We know many people who live in America and they fully support him for looking after his people. I only wish Starmer gave a fig about us!

I have a good friend in the US who was absolutely pro Trump in his first term as she thought he was great for business. By the ens of his first term she saw the light and was out campaigning against him.
I didn't vote for Starmer but think he's doing a very good job so far. He very much seems to be a man of integrity and is a safe pair of hands, thank goodness for someone with common sense and good ethics.

No no one said that.

We've just been noticing what Trump has been up to and most posters do not like it. The Ukraine/Zelensky incident finally opened many eyes, and the Reform Party leader Farage, known for his constant visits to worship Trump/Musk is in big trouble.

Eyes have been opened.

Am afraid Trump has not shown himself as a strong or steady leader, he is erratic, unstable, and downright moody. He has effectively divorced himself from his allies - which is not a good move if he wants to protect anywhere against China - and has cosied up to old US arch enemy Russia. At one and the same time he has issued crippling tarriffs then backtracked on it when the stock market went into freefall. This is not a man who inspires anyone as a leader who can take on China. Indeed I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't cosy up to the Chinese government. Who knows??

Well, these people you claim to know are in a minority, but hey, you just carry in heaping praise on a sexual predator, multiple bankrupt, racist, misogynist. Unless you are a wealthy, white male you are next.

As seen above, it was HousePlantQueen who said we Trump supporters are in the minority, which obviously we are not. And then proceeded with the usual name calling which the Democrats are experts in.

Babs03 Sat 08-Mar-25 19:24:25

Oh c'mon Artols, you think Trump doesn't resort to name calling. Is like he is back in the school playground calling other kids 'loser!!'

Arto1s Sat 08-Mar-25 19:29:20

Babs03 Of course I wasn’t referring to Trump; I was talking about the Democrat supporters. Personally, I don’t name call on this forum, but so many do, that as I have said before, it becomes tedious. Can we just discuss without getting so personal?

I suspect you Trump supporters are in the minority now, certainly the opinion polls say so Artols.
This makes illuminating reading, it’s not going well so far.

Artols name calling is never good but am afraid Trump and his cronies have stirred up an awful lot of anger and hatred throughout Europe, Canada, and the UK, countries that were once allies but now feel Trump is in danger of causing WW3, so that can rub people up the wrong way.
Isolation is never a good plan for a country, even the US, so this should worry you as well as everyone else. And as HPQ said, when Trump has sacked, impoverished, and villified many ordinary Americans, you will probably be next.
Nobody is safe with a leader like him.

AGAA4 Sat 08-Mar-25 19:47:45

I feel sorry for those who still support Trump. They are in for a rude awakening one day. Trump doesn't give a fig for the ordinary Americans people.
He is erratic and changes his mind on a whim. This is not a stable leader who will be good for the USA.

Could you clarify who is being called names by whom please Arto1s as I'm somewhat confused.
Unless you mean HPQ is calling Trump names which is absolutely beyond the pale 😯

Oh, wait a minute 🤔

Wyllow3 Sat 08-Mar-25 20:42:46

Arto1s, have you no idea how offensive Vance was when he suggested that the UK, France, and indeed other European countries had not fought in wars for 30 years? When we had been fighting alongside the USA? Our Prime Minister read out names of the war dead in our parliament.

He later apologised, but he was either very offensive, or perhaps worse, incredibly ignorant of recent history.

Susieq62 Sat 08-Mar-25 23:18:49

One of the names read out by Sir Keir in PMQT was one of my students! 19 when he was blown up and not a lot of him left to bury! Mr Vance you are insolent beyond measure ! How any sane American can believe in Trump or Vance is beyond my comprehension !
