This statistic is verging on the unbelievable....but it is not.

The Times today states that one in ten adults between 16 and 64 is claiming incapacity or sickness benefits. It's hard to see how the economy can sustain this level of payments. Does anyone else find this alarming?

You are aware that a sizeable proportion of those claiming Universal Credit are at work Cabbie21 ?

The figure as at December 2024 was around 37% there is a standard allowance and 55 pence from every pound earned is deducted from that standard allowance.
So if an employee gets ill they have the same rights as everyone else. Under current employment law.
