Very dignified and presidential style language!

Was more expected of President P*ssy Grabber?

A man who uses the above phrase can hardly be expected speak like an adult. The office of the Presidency instantly lost prestige and dignity the moment the multi-bankrupt reality show star was sworn in the first time. His cabinet is filled with drunks, women beaters, and creepy conspiracy theorists. War plans are shared via social media by his bumbling defence team. Him verbalizing being “pissed off” at Putin is hardly scratching the surface of low-level, trashy communication characterizing this regime.

In a lighter note, I love watching clips of the eloquent Barak Obama’s press conferences Vs Trumps. Trump is hilariously inarticulate. I love that his worst nightmare is the exact opposite.

Trump’s opinions, swing one way or another depending on how he is feeling. I would like him to continue to be ‘PO’ with Putin but I don’t trust him an inch.

Putin could outmanouvre and out think Trump in his sleep.

As I have said before Trump has been assessed as having he vocabulary and reading ability of an 8 year old, by more than one knowledgeable source. This must be a guide to his intellectual age as well.

However, anyone who has ever had to deal with a rambling drunk, knows that their thought processes are entirely irrational, as are their actions and that is Trumps biggest weakness - and his greatest strength.

Well that friendship didn't last long did it? There's rarely room in the playground for two bullies. Putin has had much more experience and has lots more henchmen to do his every bidding...

He's threatening he'll put tariffs on Russia

"The president added that if Russia is unable to make a deal on "stopping bloodshed in Ukraine" - and Mr Trump felt that Moscow was to blame - then he would put secondary tariffs on "all oil coming out of Russia".

"That would be that if you buy oil from Russia, you can't do business in the United States. There will be a 25% tariff on all oil, a 25 to 50-point tariff on all oil," he said."

But he reckons "Mr Trump said Mr Putin knows he is angry, but added that he has "a very good relationship with him" and "the anger dissipates quickly... if he does the right thing".

As if.

Churchview Sun 30-Mar-25 22:12:38

Trump said, "If Russia and I are unable to make a deal on stopping the bloodshed in Ukraine, and if I think it was Russia's fault - which it might not be... I am going to put secondary tariffs... on all oil coming out of Russia,"

To sum up - if something doesn't happen, and it was their fault, but it might not be, then he might do something.

Is he meeting trouble half way?
Is he talking nonsense?
Or saying absolutely nothing?
If asked, will he deny ever saying any of it?

BlessedArt Sun 30-Mar-25 22:24:53

Apparently babbling nonsense is an acceptable form of presidential communication. God help the US and the planet.

BBC News - Trump 'very angry' with Putin over ceasefire negotiations
www.bbc.com/news/articles/c20x7z36d56o

Well, well, well, this is a change of tune. Trump is not getting his own way with Putin after all. What a farce it all is.

Wyllow3 Sun 30-Mar-25 23:36:57

Oh yes the irony

"NBC News reported that, in a 10-minute phone interview, Trump said he was very angry and "pissed off" when Putin criticised the credibility of Zelensky's leadership, although the president has himself called Ukraine's leader a dictator and demanded that he hold elections"

imaround Mon 31-Mar-25 01:08:57

I am starting to wonder if he knows any other words. His favorite one right now is tariff.

Wyllow3 Mon 31-Mar-25 01:16:49

I don't think Trump will be able to "make peace" here tho I might be wrong and goodness knows it's needed. Putin wants Ukraine and doesnt care about Trumps desire for mineral rights! Trump doesnt have the abilities he thinks he has, unless his tariffs really can hit Putin as hard as Trump thinks it will.

I dont know if they can have the effect he thinks they will -dont know enough about it - except to alienate.

From Former Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell (who is at odds with Trumps administration) -

““When the president’s envoys trumpet the magnanimity of a thuggish autocrat, they do so under the watchful eyes of his friends in Beijing, Tehran, and Pyongyang.

When his representatives in negotiations masquerade as neutral arbiters, or legitimize sham elections, or treat aggressor and victim as morally equivalent...

..... they do so in full view of longtime partners across the globe – some who know the taste of aggression, and some who have good reason to fear its imminent arrival,” McConnell said.

“When American officials court the favor of an adversary at the expense of allies. When they mock our friends to impress an enemy. They reveal their embarrassing naivete

Trump has underestimated Putins belligerence, his mistake was to start with the statement the war was lost and removing much of Ukraines arms supply, expecting Putins cooperation, that hasn’t happened.

Now he’s got to play catch up, maybe even resupply Ukraine weapons, more sanctions may not work.

M0nica Mon 31-Mar-25 07:13:22

Trump hasn't under estimated Putin's belligerence. He hasn't even thought about it. Trump sees himself as the great deal maker - and that is far as his thought goes.

nanna8 Mon 31-Mar-25 07:33:26

Trump is still very popular in the USA. More so than the Democrat opposition. Interesting. A very different population.

Churchview Mon 31-Mar-25 07:55:55

I know nothing about Mitch McConnell but what a blessed relief to read his words after weeks of drivel from the inarticulate and infantile Trump.

madeleine45 Mon 31-Mar-25 07:58:36

So now we have the 2 year old Trump stamping in the playground because everyone is not doing what he wants , and is planning to take his ball home!! Well now he is going to face the other bully Putin, but dont think Putin will let him get away with his posturing. Americans seem to like slogans so I suggest
Dump the Trump would be a good one!!

LaCrepescule Mon 31-Mar-25 07:58:40

What do you expect from Trump? The most unstatesman-like individual who ever lived. A megalomaniac idiot in charge of one of the most powerful countries in the world.
Absolutely f…… terrifying.

Casdon Mon 31-Mar-25 08:00:24

According to the poll tracker his popularity is waning quite rapidly, it has moved back into the average approval of below 50% as for previous presidents. I suspect it will continue to fall.

The lack of a clear Democratic opponent at the moment is an issue in his favour, but presumably that’s a temporary issue.

I totally agree.
The pally pally approach didn’t last long did it? Now Trump’s resorted to his usual name calling and threats I imagine it won’t be long before Putin retaliates- the latter is more powerful than the orange one I fear.

Churchview Mon 31-Mar-25 08:29:53

Trump's 'thought' processes over the last few months -

I am King of the world and everyone will do my bidding.
Get a posse of bullies around me to make everyone afraid.
Who's the biggest bully - I need him on my side.
Be seen to relentlessly bully the man in the weakest position - that's always worked a dream in the past.
Oh! People aren't liking that. Why? Weirdos!
They want me to bully the big man too? Sad, but I can do that.
Be seen to bully big man.
I am King of the world and everyone will do my bidding.

This is too serious to be thinking in schoolyard bully terms, many lives are being lost, while 2 super powers squabble. If Trump continues on the present line the threat to Ukraine and the rest of Europe increases, do not underestimate the threat to us all if the US fails to get a settlement.

nanna8 Mon 31-Mar-25 09:45:40

Agree. It is very easy to knock Trump and most of us think he deserves it but ultimately he holds a position of power in the world and his actions and dealings will affect us all.

The USA is a threat to all of us whether or not there is a deal in Ukraine.

Greenland, Central America, Canada are already being eyed by Trump. Israel is being supported by the USA and is now attacking Lebanon wherever it chooses.

Domestically in the USA, women and all minorities are being deprived of their human rights eg. abortion regulations, deportations of citizens, stealth removal of voting rights etc.

Trump and Co are inflaming situations that already exist.

I have no trust in Trump to do anything other than to line his own pockets and those of his friends. Billionaires are pulling all the strings!
