Why? If Zoom calls were good enough in Lockdown then why does she need to go in person to be rubbished by Donald Trump?

I hope she's flying Economy and staying in a Travelodge..........

Hardly a jolly.

I hope she's flying Economy and staying in a Travelodge ..........

If she's discussing anything with her aides en route I do hope she's not sitting in Economy.
And I hope she's staying at the British Embassy

I'm just appalled that our government is trying for a trade deal with Trump's US.

I wonder what 'conditions' they are prepared to accept...

Trade deals always have conditions I’m sure you know that, they are about finding an acceptable compromise for both sides.
Reeves in Washington is finding what Trump really wants, there will be a trade deal, someone has to do it, Whether we like it or not remains to be seen, trade will continue with the US, if they retreat into “fortress US” it will be bad for all western nations

Just learning on another thread about the separation of small children from immigrant families entering America. Those children subsequently end up in court hearings alone.

Hard to find an acceptable compromise with a country that acts like Trump's America.

Seems she should fly across, meet face-to-face.

I'd not find this meeting a "jolly".

I don't particularly care if she flies economy or where she stays. There must be government rules and restrictions in place for travel.

An initial report as to aims, whats happened so far and also a red line about food standards

I think its mostly likely to be mainly exploratory at this point but towards the end of the report some interesting remarks on "low value"products coming to the UK (stuff like Temu).

I don't think Reeves is a particularly good Chancellor but international meetings are part of the job. There's no need to be snide about it.
