Doodledog I read your comment as a reference to communal celebrations - weddings, birthdays, Christmas, commemorating the end of a war, winning the Championship etc. Naturally, people are happy when they get together to celebrate and so a tragedy like this seems more devastating.
That was my interpretation. However, I can see that it could be read differently. Your reference to "culture" could be interpreted as somebody (an outsider) wanting to attack it. Unfortunately, references to culture are bubbling underneath many racist posts, so maybe that's what people thought. Maybe I'm wrong - somebody who has attacked you will hopefully explain.

Yes, I meant things like communal celebrations of things important to groups of people (such as football). I wasn’t speculating about race or nationality - I specifically said ‘celebrating their/our culture’, as it seems doubly awful that people having a good time have been targeted, whether the perpetrator is a Liverpool supporter or not. His colour or nationality are irrelevant to that, IMO - it is those reading that into my post who made the assumption that those things matter.
