Are men never to be called on mansplaining without accusations of misandry? It is perfectly possible to criticise one man without being prejudiced against all of them.

The roadside setup in Hertsmere, Hertfordshire, shows deputy prime minister Angela Rayner, chancellor Rachel Reeves and education secretary Bridget Phillipson depicted as cows waiting to be slaughtered.
It has shocked political parties in Westminster, where MPs, including Mr Farage, are having to take extra security measures to protect themselves from potential attacks.
The imagery of a slaughterhouse has brought back memories of attacks on MPs, including the deaths of Labour’s Jo Cox and the later Tory MP David Amess.
Reform did not initially answer questions on the issue, but responding to The Independent at a press conference in London, Mr Farage said: “All sorts of appalling things get said and done by people fighting in elections, at local and national level, and we get it done to us

From the O/P
"responding to The Independent at a press conference in London, Mr Farage said: “All sorts of appalling things get said and done by people fighting in elections, at local and national level, and we get it done to us"
The point is, nothing like this did get done to Reform. As I said upthread, if say Labour did this to female Reform Candidates, it would have hit the headlines in the DM, GB news etc "shock horror Labour ......", Farage would have been onto it in a flash, wouldn't he.
"It’s the same abuse as calling a man a Fat Pig or a Dirty Dog, by commonly heard obscenities today a fairly mild insult."
How many male deputy prime ministers, chancellors, and education secretaries have been portrayed as a group of fat pigs heading for the abbatoir to be turned into bacon?

Trump and Johnson have been called much worse, in any case the reference to cows is probably more often used by a woman as a mild insult to another woman, calling police “pigs” is commonplace, male or female.
Every sensible person agrees that Reforms comment was offensive, but as far as I know was not a criminal offence, it comes with the job many will get abuse face to face or online you have to shrug it off.
It is a criminal offence.
Section 5 Public Order Act 1986.
1) A person is guilty of an offence if he—
(a) uses threatening or abusive words or behaviour, or disorderly behaviour, or
(b) displays any writing, sign or other visible representation which is threatening or abusive,
within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress thereby.
6) A person guilty of an offence under this section is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding level 3 on the standard scale.
A level 3 fine is currently £1,000.

I do take mansplaining as an insult against the male point of view
You may disagree with anything I say without the mansplaining insult, on occasions I have used womansplaing as a response insult and there is plenty on GN to justify it.
No problem with abattoirs, then, David?
Of course David doesn't understand the depth of feeling about these female politicians being called cows and suggesting they are past their best and heading for slaughter. He is a man and is approaching this from a male centred point of view. It is obvious from his comments that he really doesn't get it
Mansplaining is men telling women things that they already know- either because they are women or because they have professional expertise in the area under discussion. So a man telling women about period pain or explaining the offside rule to Alisha Lehman.
It is not about simply expressing an opinion. It is assuming that men know more than women on every subject. In this case, it is mansplaining to tell women that being called a cow is not offensive to the female sex, and a woman disagreeing with that is not womansplaining (if such a word exists) - it is disagreeing.
Trump IS much worse than any of our homegrown politicians, but I don't like the (many) comments, mainly by US inhabitants, that someone should shoot him. Civilised countries change their political leaders and department heads by bloodless and legal methods, not by killing them, whether by bullet, gallows, poison or by driving them into an abbatoir to their deaths - and the mental image of cows being driven into an abbatoir has several layers of nastiness.
One of those layers is the memory of Jews being herded into gas chambers for the crime of being different, in their case racially and by religion. In the case of these women in high government positions they are different in belonging to a different political party and by being women in government. Reform is following in MAGA's footsteps in their treatment of both of those. If Farage cannot or will not control this level of abuse, he will not be in control of his adherents if ever they do get into a position of power in the government of this country.
It is interesting that to call a man a bull, a stallion, top dog, etc has an element of admiration to it. Calling a woman a mare, a cow, a sow, a cat, a bitch, is definitely abuse - and not such mild abuse as David seems to think it. To a female ear, there is no undertone of admiration in any of them.

And how is Wyllow's post misandry?
David49 is allowed to air his opinions on here just like anyone else. The fact that he’s a man isn’t relevant, this forum is for men and women.
If a woman can say what she thinks then so can a man without anyone just saying ‘ mansplaining’ ! It’s a way of shutting out a comment from a man and it’s not on.
If anyone doubts that, contact the mods and ask them.
I know several women who call others a silly cow behind their backs.
It isn’t just a male insult.
I didn’t notice David49 saying anything at all against women.
It’s Reform you should all be getting at, not other forum members in a pile on.
Not just a male insult, no, but still an insult. When combined with cattle and abbatoir slaughter connections and undertones of death sentences, and when Reform aligns itself so obviously with the ethos of MAGAdom, it has an intimidating feel to it.
It’s the abbatoir thing that’s crass and something only Reform would do out of all the political parties ,which I believe the reason for is that they don’t have good enough candidates with the right sort of political skills to know what’s going to play well and what won’t.
I didn't notice David saying anything about women either, but I did feel he minimises the threatening tone here, which may be nore noticeable to women than to him, as the people portrayed were female political figures. "Cow" is only part of the mixture. There is also the abbatoir, where cows are driven toward mass slaughter without such preliminaries as breaking laws, being charged with committing crimes, tried, and convicted. Just "They are cows, kill 'em."
David didn’t say anything about women. He told women that women being called a cow is a mild insult. That is the mansplaining.

Well, that came after two other cow related remarks that did strike me as quite aggressive as the subject matter is cow as insult to women
"Farage is much more dangerous than cows, at he end of the day cows are just £1000 worth of beef, that’s where a dangerous cow ends up"
"Believe me if a cow injures someone, its beef burgers soon, keeping an aggressive cow is a very bad idea"
Given the subject - women politicians singled out, cows for the slaughter, by the third remark on cows I certainly felt it had got to a very weird place.
Report anything that you think breaks guidelines but don’t do a pile on.
Why not take it up? Farage may shrug this off but it was a criminal offence even though, if prosecuted, the fine would be water off a duck’s back to the millionaire responsible for it.
The man who represents Reform UK's Hertsmere branch is Darren Selkus. He promotes himself from Reform HQ Millbank Tower, 21-24 Millbank, London SW1P 4QP and is very vocal on X.
I was curious to know who did this. Someone on Threads had passed by the display which they said was in Barnet Lane in Elstree.
I took the Google map man for a walk. It was easy to identify the hedge as part of a property called Friars Mead, Barnet Lane, WD6 3RA.
It belongs to Andrew Perloff, property millionaire, a former Tory then UKIP and Reform donor.
To confirm it, here he is with the horrible display.
This is old but gives an indication of his attitude towards women, or wimmin as he calls us:

Very nice bit of research, Silverbrooks
charming bloke.
"Amid tales of partying with bikini-clad models Andrew Perloff, whose company owns the Lyceum on Bold Street, also questions “wimmin’s” groups for campaigning against topless photos appearing in national newspapers"

Its slightly bizarre writing now as by co-incidence I have just been watching "Misbehaviour" on Netflix which is about the women demonstrating against the cattle market of the now historical landmark Miss World Competition of 1970 (Highly recommended).
He's a publicity-seeking dinosaur who think he's a comedian:

Perhaps it was Trump posing at Pope who inspired him to cast Farage as Moses.
Bonkers. You can buy the image if you shell out £24 and it does of course have page 3 "girl" posing next to Moses and a woman politician portrayed as a cow for the abattoir.
" These models, like footballers, mostly have only a limited window of opportunity for high earning and in my opinion there is only one person who gave these women true liberation and that was Margaret Thatcher and her various chosen chancellors.”
I love cows !
