confused Lathyrus as he's a biological male, why would other male footballers have superior physical strength?

The mind boggles on this one.

So presumably if there are more make competitors there will be six people on the podium- three male transwomen and three females- for the first, second and third places.

And there will be the person who jumped the furthest (first place) then the person who jumped the furthest for a female ( also first place) then the trans person who is second - except that they actually jumped further than the female in first place and then female who is second (who didn’t jump as far as any of the three who are first and second) but who also did not jump as far as the trans person who is third. And then the sixth person who is actually joint third.

Got that? Simples🙄

The formatting looks awful, sorry, everything from A male ...through to ....Girls were not okay with this has been c&p from X.

Meanwhile in the USA, one meet has decided on a different tack.

A male had been dominating 3 events in CA GIRLS track & field
@CIFState
continued to allow him to compete with girls - but made slight rule changes that whatever place he gets a girl will also get.

Leading to a girl having to share the 1st place podium with a MALE.

Ab Hernandez came in 1st in high jump and triple jump - 2nd in long jump.

Many girls were not okay with this.
So they are admitting that a transgirl isn't a girl and retains male advantage but he must be allowed to compete against females. Make it make sense, other than he wouldn't come close to a place if competing in the boy's events.

Interestingly they didn't have to make any such consideration for a female taking a podium place in the male events, what a surprise!

This example was about football and the transwoman who could no longer play in a female team rejected the alternative of a men’s team because she was frightened of the injuries caused by men’s superior physical strength.

And yet somehow that didn’t apply to her superior male strength against her female opponents 🤔

Precisely.

Good point Lathyrus3 🤙🏼

The trans woman in the OP probably would be scared of competing against men as it would mean not winning.

True, but what struck me was that he said he wouldn’t feel safe playing with men competitors, and that’s exactly how women have been saying they feel.

btw, I've always been clear on trans and sport issues but we have laws on hatred/incitement to same that can be applied across the board.

Wyllow3 Sun 01-Jun-25 15:38:10

Given the example in the O/P

What it seems to me we need to focus on the increase in toxic masculinity in terms of our well being as women, and especically looking at the cultural climate that our grandchildren face: violence, both physical and co-ercive.

We've threads going on the Tate brothers, women in the US being downgraded, Reform activists targeting women political leaders.

What we need to do is create environments where whatever your back ground male/female/trans what matters is treating each other with respect.

That’s why I love Caitlin Jenner- she says it as it is.

Lathyrus3 Sun 01-Jun-25 11:05:19

Yes I saw that this morning on the BBC website.

What can you say about an admission like that really?🤔
Except it’s good to hear a transwoman speaking this truth.

In the midst of a flow of reports about failed males taking awards in female sports,
A 28 year old man who “came out as transgender” four years ago gives the perfect explanation for why males shouldn’t play in female sports.
He said
What am I supposed to do? Go and play with the men? Because I don’t feel safe playing there.
