Sometimes when words fail, (which they are beginning to be

A song says it instead.

This is just so extremely emotional, yet so profound and very true .
I'm encouraged that there are some out there that do their own bit for such a devastating crisis. I believe this family is quite special.

I do, they can be funny (Wasteman)

I haven’t looked at this but I guessed it was the family who started posting these videos around the pandemic.
I couldn’t remember their name, so I googled…. ‘Who is the sanctimonious family who post videos of them singing ?and up came the name, the Marsh family!!

Even Google could see the connection!

silverlining48 Sat 07-Jun-25 09:53:04

The marsh family are very talented, are not sanctimonious but have a social conscience. Well worth a watch/ listen.

Jewelle Sat 07-Jun-25 09:58:54

”are not sanctimonious”

Really???

silverlining48 Sat 07-Jun-25 10:05:09

Yes really 🤔 there is a choice, dont listen.

Jewelle Sat 07-Jun-25 10:12:44

I didn’t listen to this but I have previously when they first started out.

JenniferEccles Sat 07-Jun-25 10:15:38

Well I think they are sanctimonious and obviously Google does too as it connected the word with the Marsh family !

Wyllow3 Sat 07-Jun-25 10:23:15

I just had to try it without the "sanctimonious" Jennifer as they are many things

and got this page

ie, Marsh family domes up just the same

No.
Mawkish and sentimental.

Jennifer Eccles, you are so right.

JenniferEccles Sat 07-Jun-25 12:52:40

Fair enough Wyllow3 but I still stand by my view as do others too!

GrannyGravy13 Sat 07-Jun-25 12:59:36

Pushy parents who hitch their wagon to any current theme they think will get them clicks and £££

Since their disastrous ditty to music regarding the Peliquot (sp) court case I refuse to listen or watch any propaganda they put out.

Nandalot Sat 07-Jun-25 13:29:06

I think they are incredibly talented which is demonstrated in this song, not only musically but with the moving and well-expressed lyrics. I don’t think they are sanctimonious, they have just found a way to express their feelings on issues which mean a lot to them.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 07-Jun-25 13:33:38

A lot of shooting the messenger, but not engaging with the message going on here!

Anniebach Sat 07-Jun-25 13:43:25

Quite usual to speak of a singer when speaking of a record, there is a thread on Gaza .

Maremia Sat 07-Jun-25 13:44:46

Perhaps the way you feel about this song reflects the way you feel about Gaza? Perhaps not?

Anniebach Sat 07-Jun-25 13:53:20

If I choose to speak of Gaza I will on the ‘Israel to conquer
Gaza’ , I think your post was the last 2 days ago , apologies is
mistaken

The record, I had never heard of this family until they came
in for a lot of criticism here some time ago

Maremia Sat 07-Jun-25 14:01:01

Apologies Annieb, my post should have read,
'Perhaps the way one feels about this song, reflects the way one feels about Gaza.'

Maremia Sat 07-Jun-25 14:01:55

I hadn't read your post before sending mine.

Wyllow3 Sat 07-Jun-25 14:10:21

Yes, I did intend to engage with the situation in Gaza, got sidetracked by the Marsh family.
I felt it focussed on the Aid issue specifically - as I said so many words, take the human side.

(The song does btw condemn terrorism
recognises need of hostages
is careful to criticise a regime not a people)

But when the talking goes on and on its a call for action heartfelt/humanitarian.

I can only do a limited amount like most of us - email my MP, back calls a bit £££ for organisations that promote understanding between peoples.

Oreo Sat 07-Jun-25 17:54:40

The Marsh Family, a super-sanctimonious outfit who try and ensure they’re in the limelight as much as possible, a bit Meghan Markle like.Their songs are all rubbish.Am amazed that anyone likes them.

Wyllow3 Sat 07-Jun-25 18:12:38

I'm choosing to try and focus rather on what can we do about Gaza in our own ways. I haven't the energy atm to post a very up to date statement on the aid situation.
