Since we are into genealegy for a wee bit, how many of the current population of Israel, who identify as being Jews, have great-grandparents who were born in what is now named as Israel? How many of that population are actually immigrants to the area?

Is that relevant?

Wasn't Israel supposed to be a safe haven for Jewish people after the horrors of WW2 (and other pogroms)?

In reply to Oreo asking why Palestinians would want to go into the sea. There was a fishing industry in Gaza before this war. Most of the fishing boats have been destroyed but the fishermen have painstakingly repaired the small fishing boats by taking usable wood etc from what remains of the destroyed boats. They had been fishing in the shallow waters to feed their families. This is no longer possible as Israel has banned any entry whatsoever into into the sea.

Israel has shown the world just what they are. I wouldn't visit there or want anything to do with the Country.

It matters that living Palestinians were not only born in Palestine but worked all their lives there and reared their kids there.
Ethnic Jews necessarily have moral right to a safe and honoured homeland, but that is not sufficient reason to deprive Palestinians of the same moral right.

The setting up of the nation state of Israel in 1948 was a compromise between native Palestinians' moral right to territory and Jewish people's moral right to territory.

Since 1948 Israel has invaded Palestinian territories, sometimes by armed assault and sometimes by illegal Israeli settlements. The situation in 2025 is all that remains of Palestinian territories is under armed occupation/assault by Israel.

Israel was intended as a safe place for the Jewish immigrants who came there after the horrors of WW2, and it was intended to remain a safe place for the Palestinians, who had already lived there for generation upon generation.
It was not intended that those Jewish people should be allowed to hound native Palestinians from their homes, farms and workplaces.
The GENOCIDE now occuring in Gaza, was not intended in the original deal.

So what do we know about the concentration camps (the deceptive name is “humanitarian city”) ..

It is to be a tent and container enclave (in that heat!!?)
600000 will initially be forced to enter it eventually followed by everyone else.

It is then proposed that this will act as a prison, with armed IDF surrounding it.

The only way to leave the prison is to emigrate. Called “voluntary emigration”🙄

Nobody else, either on this forum or anywhere else has come up with an alternative plan, which speaks volumes.
Tents initially will be the only things possible to accommodate vast numbers of people.
What do you expect? There will have to be armed Israelis on hand or the clans will take over and crime will be rife.

Blimey if no one has an alternative plan to ethnic cleansing or genocide then the human race is totally buggered. (I mean that in the Cornish sense😊)

Oreo I believe I did put forward a credible alternative on this thread, several pages back - that of the IDF withdrawal from Gaza and all aid groups being allowed in to help the Gazan people rebuild their devastated communities.

However, it appears that this isn’t ‘reasonable’ to you.

So, putting that aside and assuming that, as you say, the Gazan people need to relocate to one place ‘for their own safety’ while the rubble is cleared etc, is this relocation temporary?

Once the Palestinian communities within Gaza are made habitable, is the plan for the people of Gaza to return to their homes?

How about complete withdrawal of any occupying forces, recognition of 2 states, support by the international community - as was done in Germany - post war- eventual elections. Allow the Palestinians to rebuild their lives and country without hinderance.

Israel begin to understand that the post war agreement - well I suppose the Balfour agreement really was built on sand and to begin to accept that the land has never been theirs by automatic right especially where they have driven the rightful owners away, and must be earned, by good auspices

It isn’t even reasonable for the Palestinians in Gaza.Aid charities cannot keep law and order and clans would seize power and the weak go to the wall.
It’s not just a matter of tents or aid, it would be a recipe for disaster.
Yes, I would hope that eventually Gazans would be able to create, with help, their own towns again but there will definitely be some loss of land as a wider exclusion zone will be made between Gaza and Israel.
Quite frankly at this time it’s impossible to guess what will happen and will depend on various factors.

The Gaza Palestinians move to one place, Hamas too, or will
they remain in Gaza ? they are hiding in hospitals and schools and the tunnels they built.

What other evidence do you want?

No criticism of Hamas who clings to tunnels, hospitals, schools
in full knowledge that they will be searched for

What happens with the remains of hamas will be the deciding factor for all future plans.
