Much as I dislike Trump I believe he might have enough influence to achieve this.

No I didn’t say that Wyllow , I said a child seriously ill, i don’t know why he is so ill, the mother posing him for the camera is so upsetting , she is displaying his legs , arms , torso, sorry but I don’t have your trust in those involved with the photograph.

Yet you would trust any image or anything reported about Hamas.
These mothers are agreeing to be photographed with their babies because they are begging for help, they are beyond desperate. You choose not to believe this but believe that every death in Gaza is the fault of Hamas and the Israeli government are blameless.
Hamas are not dropping bunker blasting bombs on innocent civilians or now starving them to death.
They may have initiated the conflict but Israel are the ones committing genocide.
You won’t believe this either but hey ho, your choice.

The've gone too far

In the circumstances, as in "you could have produced any old image"

I feel an apology may be appropriate.

And don't dodge the meaning of the image.

it is what it is

Yes, a seriously ill child , no more no less

You really believe I would post any old pic to make a point?
Surely you know me better than that?

For music fans, did anyone else hear the conductor Ilan Volok's impromtu speach condemning the actions of Israel?

AGAA4 Sat 13-Sept-25 15:40:47

Should have said by the time Trump had the news.

As AGAA4 says, the US has to say that. What Trump says publicly of course isn’t always the sane as what he thinks privately.I can’t believe that Israel didn’t tell him before the missile strike on the hamas building.

Israel informed the US military about the impending attack who then told the Pentagon. It was then passed on to Trump. The attack was already underway by the time the US got the news Oreo

Whitewavemark2 Sat 13-Sept-25 15:36:24

Trump is too taken up with domestic issues to be terribly effective, (trump is consumed by Epstein) he simply hasn’t got his eyes on any international ball.

That is why both Putin and Netanyahu are getting away with what they are doing.

Word is that Israel did advise of the illegal bombing of Qatar but more or less as it was about to happen (they had to because of American presence in Qatar). Likewise Qatar. Neither had any time to take action.

Now this is new. A report in the BBC online says that,

'US joins UN Security Council condemnation of Israeli strikes on Qatar.'

This is unusual, as the US would in the past have voted against or abstained from the vote.

This is unusual but right as the US has a large base in Qatar with a thousand personnel.
They have to defend their own people and condemn Israel for the attack. Trump said at the time that he was very unhappy about the attack.

Yes, they’ll be worried Maremia but the antidote will be to not harbour hamas operatives in their cities.
Qatar has done itself no favours by allowing them to live in luxury there.

Excerpts from an article in today's online The Guardian,

'Israel has replaced Iran as the biggest threat to security to the Gulf States'

'Gulf rulers are pressing ahead with the pursuit of greater strategic autonomy...to hedge against the risks of depending on the US'

'Israel's unchecked campaigns in Gaza, escalating opentions in the West Bank...have reframed the conversation.'

at is the UN changed famine Definition?
Classifying famine means that the most extreme category is triggered when three critical thresholds – extreme food deprivation, acute malnutrition and starvation-related deaths – have been breached. The latest analysis now affirms on the basis of reasonable evidence that these criteria have been met, UN agencies said.22 Aug 2025

Seems UN changed their definition of famine 22August 2025

5 countries declared war on Israel, 1948

But many Arab countries have kept their peace with Israel thanks to US assurances of their security in the region, uneasy allies, but the bombing of Qatar and the lack of assurances from Trump that a ceasefire will be pursued in a Gaza, has led to shifting allegiances which will make Israel far less safe thanks to Netanyahu’s actions.

silverlining48 Sat 13-Sept-25 13:19:37

International definition of famine

1. One in 5 households in a certain area face extreme food shortages.

2. More than 30% of the population in a given area is acutely mal nourished

3. At least 2 out of every 10,000 dying from starvation each day.

So not everyone needs to be stick thin, it’s a percentage of the population who have been affected. Hence those who are able are the ones who go out looking for what is laughably called, food.

By the time a famine is called it’s already too late.

From your perspective don’t forget. Others of the Muslim faith have a different perspective regarding the right of Palestinians to their land and unfortunately for Israel, the support from so many they had until recently is draining away very rabidly indeed

Frankly going forward it is a disaster for the ordinary Israeli imo.

Oreo Sat 13-Sept-25 11:31:30

Neither will we here in the UK or in any other country, these extremists have tunnel vision, apt for Gaza.
Doesn’t matter how good life is in any country these nutters are driven by ideology and hate.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 13-Sept-25 11:27:05

So the logic of that of course is that they will never defeat Hamas or its beliefs.
