The town next to me had a Gay Pride weekend a couple of weeks ago. It was all self funded, including the parade .
There was likely to have been a cost in extra policing, but that is true of all parades, including their carnival.
I was at the railway station quite late on the Saturday, having visited a friend, and the atmosphere was very convivial and chatty, including the transport police.

Its good to know that where the marches do exist they will not be funded with taxpayer’s money though. I thought fracking was a good thing?

Looks like Reform will give permission for extensive fracking. I imagine the nimbys will not be too happy with that. But at least whilst their countryside is being fractured they can console themselves with the fact that the council doesn’t involve itself with gay pride parades.

I'd love to know what this 'real change' is that Reform are hoping to bring?

NF has outlined that recently, all sounds good to me. I fully agree with Reform controlled councils refusing to fund gay pride marches. These sensible decisions not to waste taxpayers money will likely continue if in government.

Julie McDougall. Scottish former Labour MP, has joined Reform to become the 16th defection north of the border.She represents Burntisland, Kinghorn and West Kirkcaldy. She is the daughter of former Labour MP John MacDougall, who held the seat of Glenrothes.
