Due to her friendship with Epstein.
The domino effect begins.

Will a British TV company air an interview with Sarah, the usual stuff, ‘my mother left me’, ‘I was so lonely and insecure’
They will get high viewing numbers

It has often struck me over the years how, some not all, the royals and their circle behave in way that has a great deal in common with the lowest strata of society.

Far from setting an example to us plebs and having had a privileged upbringing, they seem to think that normal rules of honesty and morals don't apply to them.

Magenta - this subject often came up in those working with children and families. Especially in the 79’s and early 80’s when one response to supporting chaotic neglectful families was to send the children off to residential schools

Interesting ferry all the same. Can you imagine working class girls in that situation years ago. Double standards. Money and status smooths many paths.

Okay, I am not a Fergie fan, but I got the impression that she sent that email to placate him. Maybe she was simply scared. He was threatening to sue.

Anniebach Thu 25-Sept-25 18:45:56

Sue for what reason, he had been found guilty, nothing libellous in her announcement to the world when questioned about her relationship with Epstein.

I can't understand why charities accept patronage from people who have achieved nothing of any value, just because they have certain connections.

Publicity? Cameras flash for royalty

Because their patronage is likely to more than double donations.

Hope the unsavoury pair get what they deserve.

Anniebach Fri 26-Sept-25 07:17:52

She certainly knows how to work the media, a friend on Jeremy
Vine in less than 48 hours

Because AnnieB, at that point in time, he was still a powerful man. Just as Trump bullies folk by threatening to sue, so could that monster. Not excusing her. Just throwing another thought into the mix.

He could buy his way ?

Where did Epstein’s fortune come from?
I’ve long suspected he had incriminating evidence on the rich and powerful foolish enough to be seduced into his grubby world
He’s also reported to had links to security services

I was never the biggest fan of hers but I did used to have a certain admiration for how she had rebuilt her tattered reputation following her split from Andrew. Now it looks like she is back to square one.
There were sufficient public concerns about Epstein's conduct at the point she publicly denounced him all those years ago and pledged to cut all ties - why else would she have done so if not to salvage her own reputation. The problem is, it looks like she said one thing publicly and did the opposite in private, thinking she wouldn't get found out. Personally I don't buy all this stuff about her being intimidated by Epstein's aggressive threats of legal action for defamation as I can't see he would have had a leg to stand on in the light of allegations which had put him in the spotlight in the first place.
It looks for Sarah Ferguson like the chickens might have finally come home to roost

you do know she still lives with Andrew? She never had a good name to rebuild.... and she still hasn't.

I feel a bit sad for SF as her mother did go off and her father remarried and started a new family. Like Diana, it’s probably scarred them for life. Having said that, she’s simply not very bright and hopeless with money so looks for it wherever she can.

Re her daughters, I do find it hypocritical that Eugenie (I think) is involved with an organisation against modern slavery yet accepts gifts and shmoozes with ME rulers and politicians who still embrace dubious employment practices, to say the least.

The Yorks love the cameras and certainly know how to use them

merlotgran Fri 26-Sept-25 12:57:55

I’m finding Entitled a really good read, from the jaw dropping to the hilarious. How on earth did Fergie get away with so much for so long?
In real life the men in white coats would have been queuing up at the door!

As for Andrew…Words fail me! 😂

Anniebach Fri 26-Sept-25 13:37:42

Merlotgran she is expert in use of camera and in her ‘life has been unkind to me but I love everyone “ tv interviews

It certainly makes a good job at exposing the Yorks doesn't it?

I used to watch "The Windsors" and often rewatch on Netflix. Goodness, whilst the characters are excellently portrayed parodies of the real people, (and very irreverant) the storylines around them all which I once thought very far fetched but funny are strangely aligning with the book and making perfect sense!

They would be the ME despots her father sucked up to when he was given that joke title Trade Ambassador 🤬

petra Fri 26-Sept-25 18:43:19

At least she’s sold her London property for £4 mil +
I hope her creditors aren’t holding their breath. They’ll have a long wait 😡

I’m getting my kindle ready for a week away. Do yiu recommend Entitled Merlot?

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Fri 26-Sept-25 21:18:32

Are there photos in it? Kindle is a bit rubbish for those if there are. Maybe a book might be better. I like ‘visuals’ and kindle doesn’t cut it. Same with poetry books when I want to find a poem it’s tedious with kindle.

You’ve piqued my interest too now merlotgran!

merlotgran Fri 26-Sept-25 21:35:20

I don’t know about photos because mine is also on the kindle.

Here’s a little taster:

Fergie had seventeen members of staff after she separated from Andrew. One of them was employed to pick up dog poo. Another one helped him!
If formal dinners were a bit dull she’d liven them up by re-enacting the orgasm scene from When Harry Met Sally and then phone around the guests the following morning to ask if she’d made an ass of herself.
And…A poll was conducted asking, Who would you prefer to go out with, Fergie or a goat?
Seven out of ten opted for the goat! 😂

The funny, if sometimes cruel bits are necessary to deflect the outrage.

I’m only on chapter 4! 😂😂

Anniebach Fri 26-Sept-25 22:04:45

merlotgran it’s some read, the number of staff and what they are employed to do, her dinner parties, but the parts which cause outrage ? gosh
