Thoughts with all those affected. Quietly attending their place of worship for prayer and reflection on this, the holiest day in the calendar for the Jewish community.

Despicable and disgusting.

What kind of world do we live in where people march this weekend.
Terrible things come from what people think of as kindness.

Wyllow3 Sun 05-Oct-25 20:13:35

Having made my point, I'm not going to take it any further with you, FGT. Because this is a pattern.

You say something that gets me cross, I reply,

you goad just a wee bit more, hoping I'll say something that will get me into trouble..

Not interested.

Wyllow the proscribed terrorist group on 20 June this year had a group of protesters break into the air base and spray-paint two RAF Voyager planes. Caused ££s millions damage.
Not acceptable in any way shape or form.

Protest with another group ‘Doris’. Foolish virtue signalling behaviour to choose THIS group. Surely? Or do you find such extreme (and expensive) behaviour acceptable?

I carefully explained to you that the majority of PAG want nothing to do with the violent lot.
I dont want anything to do with the violent lot, but its not uncommon in groups to have a small group who behave this way.

So the answer is simple. No need to prescribe the group.

Arrest and charge those who have committed serious criminal damage as criminals

People who care about starving children and vulnerable people and even doctors at risk of their lives constantly are not "virtue signalling"

What kind of world do you live in that is happy to let that happen unchallenged when its peaceful means

AGAA4 Sun 05-Oct-25 20:02:31

Those people on marches for PAG are breaking the law. In this country we have to obey laws whether we agree with them or not.
Also they were taking police away from other duties which is wrong.

I wonder if those who are usually decent law abiding citizens know that they are rubbing shoulders with extremists and vile antisemites.

I was massively impressed

How I hate auto correct

70,000 football supporters observed a total 1 minute silence at Old Trafford here in Manchester at the Man. Utd game, in memory of those killed, you could have heard a pin drop my friend who went, said. “Not even a cough”.

Says everything about what most British people stand for.

Yes, I as massive very impressed at the respect and humanity shown at that match.

What an example to us all.

It was moving, caused me to weep, silence, no banner waving , just respect held in silence

Lathyrus3 Sun 05-Oct-25 19:58:07

Wouldn’t someone “kind, gentle and thoughtful” just hold hold off fir a short from expressing their opinions in the face of other people’s fear and grief?

I’m afraid I think that to demonstrate this weekend is more about look at me how caring I am, than any thoughtfulness for others.

“I thank thee Lord that I am not as other men……”?

Galaxy Sun 05-Oct-25 19:57:03

Yes I think people will get a shock as to where people actually stand, the loudest are rarely representative.

Anniebach Sun 05-Oct-25 19:54:58

Quakers have no problem breaking the law and no problem with causing distress to people who are very distress . Not the Quakers who use to attended my bible studies , Anglicans, Roman Catholics, Methodists , Quakers , Baptists,

I’m lost for words at the way ‘some posters’ hurl abuse at those they accuse of, well, hurling abuse.

I am delighted that you think I am silly stripey gran, honestly that couldn't please me more..

Wyllow3 Sun 05-Oct-25 19:46:40

My Quaker friend D is a Samaritan. She cycles as much as she can for the environment. she is gentle, kind, thoughtful, but faced with the suffering in Gaza, felt to call to take action. she was scared but did it.

How dare you casually label her and this like her "Doris blah blah blah"

How little you actually know about the real people taking part because they cannot bear the starving and the bombing any more

FGT, I know we often if not usually have to agree to disagree with great tolerance towards each other but this is going too far.

ronib Sun 05-Oct-25 19:45:17

Yes they are rubbish. Trash too.

Wyllow3 Sun 05-Oct-25 19:42:42

Rubbish.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sun 05-Oct-25 19:41:58

Palestine Action is a proscribed terrorist group.
I don't care if Doris, 83, from Enfield supports them or not.

They are terrorists. They have attacked our military.
Get them off our streets.

I am terrified of anyone who marched this weekend, to say I dont think of them as kind is an understatement.

Don't be so silly.

Interestingly, Wyllow my friend is a Quaker as is the elderly woman that I mentioned in my post.

Thank you Galaxy

Wyllow3 Sun 05-Oct-25 19:13:39

Palestine Action Group

Which has been proscribed.

Sadly - it's one of this cases where the intention of most were peaceful actions - have been hi-jacked by a small number of those who destroyed property - not of course attack people -(the usual suspects)

So those taking peaceful action have now been arrested and there is deep division within and outside the L party about whether they should have been proscribed

As opposed to the obvious, which is to arrest just those who did destroy property

A member of my Quaker MfW was arrested on a peaceful demonstration a couple of weeks ago. She said some of the police think - - why on earth are we arresting these older people who aren't actually harming anyone - nor getting in the way that can course harm.
