Thoughts with all those affected. Quietly attending their place of worship for prayer and reflection on this, the holiest day in the calendar for the Jewish community.

Despicable and disgusting.

Do we know the full story yet? I can only find brief headlines about a car and someone being stabbed.

Whatever happened, it sounds atrocious, and my thoughts are also with all concerned. What a world we are living in just now.

Crumpsall. A quiet multicultural community in north Manchester.
My heart goes out to all affected.
Stabbing, a shot perpetrator and now the bomb disposal team have arrived.

I completely agree, Ferry23.

Starmer (in Copenhagen) is to chair an urgent COBRA meeting today.

Yes currently in a state of shock here. Helicopters overhead, hospitals in lockdown. Very scary.

That's awful. Those poor people. What is wrong with people to do this.

Police are being sent to synagogues around the country. It sounds as if they are concerned this attack may not be the only one.

I just knew something would happen today, the blatant and the half hidden anti-semitism started days after 7th October 2023.
Started with two cars full of Muslim Palestinian supporters driving around Golders Green aggressively shouting abuse at Jews and waving Palestinian flags. They were arrested and probably just given a warning. It all continued from there ever since leading to today.Just thankful that the responders were ready for it.Despicable and disgusting indeed ferry.

It doesn't end, does it sad
Jewish people came to this country for sanctuary.

Thoughts with those affected.

So very sad. I have heard now that two of the victims have died, and also the perpetrator.

Anti-semitism is never far from the surface, and too often it is ignored or even denied.

A dreadful incident designed to cause the most distress to a targeted minority on their most holy day. Thoughts with the Jewish community who must be so fearful.

J52 Thu 02-Oct-25 12:23:20

Such a dreadful attack. My heart goes out to all affected.
Sadly this is what happens when people, of all persuasions, peddle hate no matter how mild it might seem.

Watching the news now. Despicable, cowardly, shocking attack. My heart is always warmed by all emergency services and the outpouring of support, sympathy and solidarity. Love is always stronger than hate.

Terrible, shocking, but not unexpected.
Amazing response from the Police.

Murderer shot dead - good riddance.

Thoughts with victims and their families.

It’s Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar. Manchester has the second largest Jewish community to London. I’m hurt and angry for the community. I know from friends how increasingly anxious people in this north Manchester area .
Prayers

A dreadful thing to happen. So much violence in the world, and it solves nothing, just causes sadness, bitterness, despair and anger. It’s like a never ending circle of hatred. Violence begets violence, it seems.

Babs03 Thu 02-Oct-25 13:05:35

Absolutely terrifying and tragic.
Thoughts are with loved ones of those who were killed and with all those who survived.
😢

I think these maniacs confuse being Jewish with being an Israeli follower of Netanyahu.

The attack was a violent, cruel act which doesn't help anyone.

Indeed.
And this can only fan the flames of hatred and division making yet more violent acts possible.

Just read this.
That a community should have to live their lives in constant fear of such attacks is heartbreaking.
It makes me very sad.
