I don't agree with Lisa Nandy on this subject but having heared her speak on other matters, she comes across as an intelligent person.

It's a lie rather than a viewpoint.

Plenty of intelligent people have no common sense.

She’s pretty useless. Toast at the next election. Probably knows it as her majority is only about 500.

Lucy Powell is another one who is questioning the Supreme Court's ruling on trans women; 'new trans women rules go to far', after dismissing grooming gangs issues as 'dog whistle tactics'.

Some GNs just love putting the boot into people they don't agree with and writing them off as stupid.

I can't understand how people can really believe that men can be women just because they say they are, and these days politicians don't have to live in fear of Stonewall, so can say what they really think on the subject.

Baffling. And I agree that she is intelligent. Just mistaken.

I’ve watched it happen for a long time, especially on N&P.

Although I don’t agree with her about this ( and I must admit to not knowing exactly what she said) I was so impressed with her on Question Time many years ago that I wrote to her. So I don’t understand why she could be labelled stupid. And that was back in the day at a time when I rarely contacted politicians. Mind you, unlike many politicians at the time, she accepted the leave vote because as far as she was concerned she represented her constituents and that is what they voted for so maybe, as a rabid remoaner, I should be questioning her intelligence. But I’m not…

She once said that make rapists should be in female prisons. I am so grateful I don't hold the same values as her.

Male rapists that should say.

As I recall Galaxy she said they should go to a prison "of their choosing" just as long as they now thought of themselves as women. Other male rapists without that 'identity' weren't to be granted the same privilege, so that's alright then. 🙄🙄

It makes it even more baffling that she is not stupid when she comes out with such stupid remarks.
However, she could be very intelligent in some ways but still have failed GCSE Biology.

They don't believe, not for one moment.

Nandy is not expressing a view, she is denying a biological fact, even after the Supreme Court ruling.
Regrettably she is in a position to give influential support to the very determined opposition to the Court ruling mounted by the trans community.

There's a lot of ignorance about what people go through to transition, and the different stages of transitioning.

Not on here there isn't. Many of us have been involved in this issue in one way and another for over a decade.
