Israel sold arms to Iran? But that doesn't make sense.
That was 40 years ago.
US President Donald Trump has announced that "Israel and Hamas have both signed off on the first Phase of our Peace Plan"
"This means that ALL of the Hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line", Trump says on Truth Social
Trump is "considering travelling to the Middle East" in the coming days, according to the White House
Mediators from the US, Egypt and Qatar in Sharm El-Sheikh have been attempting to broker an agreement for a ceasefire in Gaza and a release of Israeli hostages still held by Hamas
The negotiations come two years and two days after Israel launched a military campaign in Gaza in response to the 7 October 2023 attack, in which Hamas-led gunmen killed about 1,200 people and took 251 others as hostages
At least 67,183 have been killed by Israeli military operations in Gaza since then, the Hamas-run health ministry says
Well, we'll have to see - but I so hope that tomorrow will bring clarity that indeed matters will move forward now to peace, and that its not a Trump claim that cannot be backed up

The details about what has happened to prisoners on both sides are horrific. But we all know how horrific Hamas can be. Why has the State of Israel become so evil?
By definition - one is not going to be amongst the "good guys" when right from the outset you are stealing someone else's country bit by bit - some officially (via your government) and some unofficially (via the settlers). You can't both be a nice person and steal someone else's land - so that the Palestinians know that every day a bomb might kill them, everyday the settlers will probably come over the horizon and have yet another attempt at harassing you and stealing your land.
It will add a whole extra layer once the journalists are allowed in - if they manage to get in without being deliberately killed (as pretty much every journalist knows they're out to deliberately kill journalists especially - so that the truth doesnt get out).
Early this century is not a good time to be alive - in an overpopulated world, with reasonably good mass communication (meaning we can see a lot of what the evil ones amongst the human race are up to all over the world). Now what are those prophecies of "1,000 years of peace"? - if only and I cross my fingers that those ones will come to pass.....
Thanks again Allira.

It was a long time ago but what I was attempting to demonstrate was, situations in the Middle East arnt always as they appear and what they want us to see/ know.

Although the dead can't speak, their discarded bodies will yield up evidence.
Amnesty International has been fundraising to this effect, to pay specialist forensic teams to gather the standard of evidence that will hold firm in international courts.
'Thanks to your support we were able to collect and analyse evidence using several methods - including digital techniques and survivor interviews- and apply legal analysis to what we found. This documentation not only informs the international community but also strengthens the case for legal accountability at the ICJ and other judicial bodies'
Thanks for the clarification petra.
Just been reminded of a Palestinian journalist that has managed not to be killed. Bisan. The latest thing I could find by her is a YouTube video called "It's Bisan from Gaza, and Israel Even Took our Rubble". It's on the AJ+ channel (one she's often using).
A ten year old boy has been shot by the IDF for throwing a stone. The boys were playing football when they saw the IDF. Terrified they started to run away and one threw a stone. He was shot. The soldiers were in no danger in their vehicles from this child. This is yet another war crime although there is supposed to be a ceasefire.
Yes, AGAA4, I fear that the " ceasefire" is a very fragile thing. There is much work ahead of it is to last, and I am not sure who will help to manage this - I suspect that it will not be Mr Trump.

And children playing in the streets thereof..
Palestinian children should be able to play football without being shot.

Definitely, I was so surprised how quickly they had regained energy to kick a football after being starved for so long
Surprised Annue, glad for them, perhaps?

Playing football ? energy levels certainly increased rapidly after starvation
Try looking at the size of people shown in the videos - there are very few of them with any surplus weight (though it's more difficult to tell with the women - because they're not wearing Western clothing). Unlike our own society - where it's pretty rare for anyone to be their correct weight or lower. Yep....I can say that because I'm still 3 sizes bigger than my correct size (ie I should be 1970's size 14, todays vanity size 12).
Good grief Annie what a shocking response to a post about a 10 year old being shot for throwing a stone
.
Arab peoples are naturally quite lean tho there are some older women and men that become overweight.
If only children and teenagers would stop hurling items at the IDF they wouldn’t be shot at, it could be a stone or a grenade who’s to say in a conflict. If I was a parent there I would drill the dangers of stone throwing into my children. It’s a tragic loss of life.

The resilience of children, Annie, they can be bombed, see friends and family killed, be operated on without proper anaesthesia, survive on next to nothing to eat but when they can, they just want to be children and do what children do ie play. They are so amazing!
Who informed of the age of the child/teenager, all deaths and infor on health in Gaza has come from Hamas

Does it matter what age the child was! He was shot by soldiers. He had a stone they had guns. Not an even match was it.

Really Oreo this is a fact? Have you never seen pictures of belly dancers etc? Try telling that to my friend who has spent years living in the Middle East I know she'd violently disagree with you.
If only Oreo, the IDF would stop terrifying children playing on the street?
Sadly, the dead can't 'speak' to tell of how they died, and forensic teams will gather evidence on their behalf.
Palestinian ex prisoners will speak, but who in the wide world will hear their voices?
But, remember the flotilla?
Well, they are speaking out. Loud and clear. About how they were treated, as prisoners of the State of Israel.
The despicable actions of their captors, who are meant to be law abiding themselves, not vile like Hamas, will definitely be heard far and wide.
Once again, the reputation of the good ordinary people of Israel has been trashed.
The boy shot for throwing a stone lived in the West Bank.
Anniebach there is a photo of the little boy who was shot on BBC website. He looks about seven but he is ten. Looks younger through lack of nutrition perhaps?
Why on earth would the IDF think a boy living in the West Bank would have got his hands on a grenade Oreo? Still, it's not the first time children have been shot by the IDF for throwing stones is it.
