And Farage is going on about council workers pensions when he will be getting his EU pension even though he never bothered to turn up to support the people he was paid to support ie the fishermen.

13 jobs Farage
(63 Posts)So Farage has at last submitted his earnings. (Last time was May). He apparently has 12 other jobs apart from being an MP and is the highest earning MP . Up to this July he reportedly earned over £1.2 million from outside jobs. (Twice the next highest earner, Rishi Sunak). No wonder he hardly bothers visiting his Clacton constituents or attending parliament.

Interesting. I read that young people were being drawn to Reform.
That will so convince them. The article I read claimed that young Conservatives were moving to Reform.
Perhaps you saw this:
www.theguardian.com/politics/2025/oct/31/young-tories-are-fed-up-the-students-switching-to-reform-in-big-numbers
Numbers are small though despite the headline. Young Conservatives have around 15,000 members.
There are around 6 million 18-24 year olds in the UK.

The millionaires of Reform now think that the minimum wage for young people is too high.

Zia Yusuf is also claiming they want to reindustrialise the country to reach the output of Great Britain in 1860. Trumpian thinking at its worst.

*Well, they have just climbed down on their pledge on cutting income and other taxes - on the 1pm R4 news*
So much for one of their headline commitments.
They said a couple of weeks ago these pledges are ‘aspirations’.

Does he want to "reach" 1860s healthcare and housing too?

In 1860, Britain had access to a huge single market called the British Empire to which it could export its goods tariff-free.
By the 1970s Britain had lost its Empire, and lost its giant share of world manufacturing, but had built up its service sector and had a new role as a member of a united Europe.
In 2016 Britain was able to sell goods and services tariff free to the largest single market in the world, where British citizens also had free movement to travel, live and work across a whole continent of 27 EU countries.
In 2016, based on a pack of lies from people who were UKiP, then the Brexit Party, and now Reform, all the benefits and opportunities of the European single market were thrown away.
Agree with you PaynesGrey. Farage rowed back today on his recent manifesto election promises to cut £90 billion of taxes. Why- because "Reform would need to get public spending under control first" the inevitable challenge facing all governments!
He admitted his manifesto was aspirational, things he would like to do "when possible and when financial conditions allow it" , because Reform now wants to be "realistic about the state of the economy". Does that mean he now realises he wasn't being realistic/truthful in his previous manifesto?
Farage hardly acknowledges he was the main architect of Brexit but now claims he would have done it all differently saying " the opportunities of leaving the EU had been squandered". He wants to deregulate and become competitive globally (rather than trade tariff with the largest single market in the world EU?!).
He said lots more today, but as usual more smoke and mirrors.

It wouldn’t surprise me.
Can you imagine any other job where you go to an interview and tell them that you want the job, but by the way you will be absent for quite a lot of the time, getting money from other sources? Whilst I can see and understand someone who is an MP, keeping in touch with their previous work, and continuing to support which ever charity they have previously championed and worked for, to think that you could do 13 jobs properly is just ridiculous. When he tries to look man of the people and standing there with his pint , pretending to be interested in anything other than the "how to get rich quick and promise whatever comes in your head, so long as it gets you voted for" he knows what a hypocritic and a liar he is. But as he then cosies up to Trump what can you expect?
We have thread after thread about Nigel Farage.
Often with complaints about the amount of air time he and Reform MP’s are given, yet these threads help to keep Reform/Mr.Farage in the news. 🤷♀️

They also expose him and Reform for what they are. There’s no hiding place for Reform now although it amazes me that no matter how many bad things they do it’s water off a ducks back.
Threads on a tiny little forum like this don’t keep Farage in the news. The media outlets aren’t scouring Gransnet for their headlines.
Negative news is just as good as positive news to Farage. Makes no difference to a gold-plated narcissist.
Anyway, as we have discussed before Maybee, I don’t think Farage wants to be PM. I think you had heard similar. He knows he’s not up to the job. He can make a prepared speech at a Reform tent rally or to a TV camera but he’s poor when caught off guard, tries to shut down debate with sarcasm and patronising words. Listen love, you're trying ever so hard. He wouldn’t be able to do that in senior political and diplomatic circles.
His only aim it to disrupt.
Once Nathan Gill is sentenced on 21 November, we’ll see a lot more coverage of Farage’s involvement in this. Byline Times and The Nerve have been doing some sterling work. So far the MSM have been fairly quiet which makes me suspect an embargo of some kind but maybe the centre left is just keeping its powder dry:

I do sometimes wonder whether it is a case of watching them being hoist by their own petard as that loudmouth Matthew Goodwin did on BBCQT last week spouting exactly the same rubbish Yusuf does whenever he's on. It's as if they have the same script.
