The hostages are free!

What a relief for them and their families.

Bittersweet for those receiving the bodies of their loved ones.

Good news!

And thoughts too for those others.

That is indeed good news, but bitter sweet for some.

An article on the BBC website explains the careful clinical management which has been established for them. It said the clinical tea, will be slowly learning from them what their general health and mental health issues are short and long term. It said that blood results from early hostages showed several anomalies.

Of course it is excellent news.

It is such a shame though that so many people had to die in the process...

Thanks to all who have responded so far, it’s an absolutely joyous day for Israel, the hostages themselves, the families and friends and Jewish people everywhere.Can you imagine being taken and kept in fear for two years? When you have done nothing at all to deserve it.Just for being a Jew.

If only this could have happened months and months ago, or even never have happened in the first place.
Those families must be so relieved.

This is such wonderful news. I shudder to imagine what they have been through.

I pray they can heal.

While we joyously celebrate the return of the living hostages my heart goes out to those who will receive only their loved one's remains, and even more to those denied even that.

I’m so glad the hostages are free, it was heartwarming to see the two brothers who had been held separately, embracing as they were reunited.

Yes Rosie that’s the downside to the joy today. And for those families only receiving the remains, the awful thoughts of what the hostages suffered and the manner of their deaths.Truly awful.

Wonderful news, such a relief for them and their families.

Sadness for those whose loved ones did not return.

I hope all returned hostages will receive a lot of mental health support to enable recovery and enjoyment of life again.

Enjoy your lunch. This is a happy day for all Jews and a celebration is needed. I feel relieved that the hostages are at last free. I have GCs that age and my heart goes out to those young ones who have had two years of their lives taken.

A happy day for those being reunited, and the beginning of a new sad reality for those who cannot be.
