Breaking news is that Andrew will now be Andrew Mountbatten - Windsor, his title is no longer, and he will move out of Royal Lodge.

Freya5 Fri 31-Oct-25 08:34:06

Still awaiting Mandelsons fall too.

ronib Fri 31-Oct-25 08:36:10

A person of standing would be needed to instigate further legal proceedings against Andrew. Virginia Giuffre is no longer here so I don’t understand what all the fuss is about. I don’t think there’s any person now who could act in this capacity to ensure a conviction against Andrew.

Agree GrannyGravy I do question can anyone be a very unpleasant person their childhood, adulthood in every aspect of life

NanKate Fri 31-Oct-25 08:41:50

I wonder if he will have staff to look after him in his new home. What will he do all day ? Will Sarah move to that area too or will she want to live near her girls ? Many questions a thorough awful mess.

ronib Fri 31-Oct-25 08:45:01

Andrew still has extensive business dealings overseas to keep him busy? I imagine.

eazybee Fri 31-Oct-25 08:46:00

What has Andrew done wrong?
He is a boor, arrogant, entitled and lacking in judgement, an unsuccessful business man trading on his royal connections, but he has always vigorously denied the allegations made by Guiffre, and she is the only person ever to accuse him; accusations of paedophilia are unfounded .
His association with Epstein, a monster of gothic proportions, has been his undoing and his refusal to leave Royal Lodge, to which he has contributed nearly eight million, has brought the royal family into disrepute, and provoked the Great British Public into one of its periodic fits of morality, and it has brought him down.
Hubris.

I am waiting for the 40 prostitutes Andrew got through in 4 days in Thailand to put in a claim….

Great post eazybee.

I wonder if the Royals will find excuses to change their venue for Christmas this year?

There are many unanswered questions that will remain so. The original, notorious photo, was 'lost' and can never be examined forensically for authenticity. Mr Windsor did not appear in court; what might have come out in evidence will likely now remain a mystery. The photo on the front of The Times this morning did not look like a man who is arrogant and entitled, rather more of a person ruined.

No need to, Sandringham Estate is over 200 acres.

Andrew will not be in the main house, and I doubt he will be welcomed for the family walk to church Christmas morning,

Off piste, we have visited Sandringham many times, one of my favourite royal residences, especially the church which is small but stunning inside, very calming.

I am puzzled by it all. The man is an arrogant and unpleasant man, and his dealings with Epstein, show him to be a parasite and sycophant, but there are plenty of men like him in public life who sail through life like teflon men - Peter Mandelson, for example.

I am left wondering whether the King and the Prince of Wales are aware of other scandals that we have yet to hear of, or information in the Epstein papers, yet to be published, that show a much deeper and long lasting relationship with Epstein than has so far been revealed.

the difference between Andrew and Mandelson is that Mandelson is a very clever and charming man and knows how to slide out from under his misdemeanours and disappear into the undergrowth, while quietly making money on the side, while Andrew is not the sharpest knife in the box - and that is an accident of life for which he cannot be blamed - but he is also a very stupid man, he refuses to learn from his mistakes and he is an arrogant and unlikeable boor.

But still, I wait for the revelations yet to come.

Galaxy Fri 31-Oct-25 09:10:02

I agree I think they must be aware of more to come.

paddyann54 Fri 31-Oct-25 09:11:20

Now Andrew gone let’s check out the behaviour of the rest !

There’s a bigger tale to be told Char.i himself was friends of sex abusers ,convenientlySavile died without charges being brought and the “bishop” was sent to one of Charlie’s properties ( safe house).
Royalty has been rotten to the core for a long time and many abused people got no justice Mountbatten their uncle and mentor was abusing boys from a children’s home in NI up to his murder.
Of course it was seen as just something he did when he had boys brought to him when he was in India.
These parasites have got away with too much for too long

That is Prince Andrew dealt with. Will the government now do the decent thing and get the 'Grooming gangs' business sorted? You can't condemn one and not the other.

You are correct, both need “cracking”, but need much different approaches and are different ballgames.

Anniebach Fri 31-Oct-25 09:17:23

Some are angry because he is still a member of the royal family, their surname!

Jaberwok Fri 31-Oct-25 09:19:05

Andrew wasn't the only person associated with Epstein, wasn't the only person who attended these partys! Can we now look forward to other prominent people being hounded and perhaps prosecuted for their supposed misdemeanors, or will 'they' continue to be protected while allowing Andrew to take the full rap for the whole unsavoury business. Scapegoat comes to mind

GrannyGravy13 Fri 31-Oct-25 09:22:33

Jabberwok yes, I have thought many times that Andrew is the fall guy whilst other prominent figures have got off…

Some are angry because he is still a member of the royal family, their surname!

And others would be angry if he’d changed his name.

Unless someone decides to assassinate him, that is one thing that cannot be changed.

A historical and momentous occasion when the King knelt in prayer with the Pope; overshadowed.

A historical and momentous occasion when the King unveiled the long awaited memorial to the service men and women bullied, hounded out of their chosen military careers and in some cases imprisoned for being gay; overshadowed.

I hope that what must have been a very difficult decision made by the King draws a line under this now. The trial be media has been completed. Andrew has been convicted and sentenced.

Maybe for some, the public severing of his head would have been preferred but thankfully we don't do that anymore.

vegansrock Fri 31-Oct-25 09:41:37

Mandleson may be machiavellian but as far as I know hasn't been accused of sleeping with teenage girls or paying them millions in an out of court settlement.

The stripping away of his royal status leaves a path open for public prosecution.

The man should be tried by a jury of his 'peers' (laugh) and the matter dealt with as any other suspected criminal.

When will people wake up and see the crook-ery embedded in all the privileged elites?

Yet people are happier to point the finger at desperate people crossing the channel with nothing but a life-jacket.

Don't forget in your concerns for the mental health of this man and his family, that a young woman was abused and finally took her own life. Let's not forget the victims here...

Smileless2012 Fri 31-Oct-25 09:43:20

Well it's unlikely he ever would be accused of of sleeping with teenage girls vegansrock being gay.
