I haven't mentioned Andrew's mental health or that of his family keepingquiet.

The man formerly known as Prince can fall no further....
(798 Posts)Breaking news is that Andrew will now be Andrew Mountbatten - Windsor, his title is no longer, and he will move out of Royal Lodge.
Yes I know hes gay- so his crime is just being pally with a sex offender- not actually participating unlike A M-W.
I can’t help wondering where the family of Virginia Giuffre were when she was being trafficked and abused as a teenager. They seem to be very public now.
The only thing we know about Andrew is that he was pally with a sex offender.
We don't know that Andrew ever had sex with a trafficked young woman vegansrock but when it come to a trial by media that doesn't seem to matter does it.
IMO Virginia’s family are hoping to cash in on this. They certainly don’t seem to have supported her when she was younger. Indeed in her book it seems her father sexually molested her. She had no chance in life and even became a bit predatory herself finding other victims for GM.
Smileless the latest media story is about Andrew’s time as Trade Envoy. Apparently Charles warned against it as his brother would chase women and play golf which he did. He is purportedly to have had 40 prostitues in 4 days whilst in Thailand. A man with no morals even if he has committed no legal crimes.
Look out for Sarah Ferguson’s next book ‘the Girl who was a Duchess! Unless she and Andrew have had strict gagging contracts imposed.
Virginia family seems so proud, their sister From an ordinary family has brought down a prince !
But which parts of this can be 'cracked' by people in the UK?
Much of it happened in the US, so neither the King nor the British judiciary can do anything about it. I am as sure as I can be that many other people should be in jail (as should Andrew, IMO) but that would mean Trump (hardly likely) or the US equivalent of the CPS making it happen. To me, it seems that however indignant we are that justice has not been fully served, ranting about the others is a distraction from the fact that KC has done as much as he can.
Maybe he could or should have done it earlier, maybe he and/or QE are implicated in a covering things up, maybe there is evidence that could be used in a court of law if Andrew ever comes to court. It may very well be that the King's hand has been forced. I suspect that more will come out as time goes by. Maybe whatever comes out will also force prosecutions of others in the US. I would like to think so, but I don't think that we should let excellence be the enemy of good. The fact that the US hasn't acted does not mean that what has happened here is anything but correct.
As for the grooming gangs - of course there should continue to be prosecutions there - as many as possible. As far as I'm concerned they can throw away the key to the perpetrators' cells. But the logic of linking them to Epstein suggests that because there are (presumably) still people getting away with rape and sex abuse there should be carte blanche for anyone to get away with it. Is anyone seriously arguing for that?

No sweat.
purportedly must be true then.
I'm surprised he didn't have to be carried onto the plane when he left Doodledog.
God help America if VG's family symbolises an 'ordinary American family' Annie.
I've listened to the Andrew Lownie book, "Entitled" so apt! Much of the content was already in the public domain but it kind of hit home what a couple of shockers they are, so no loss. I did wonder at the possibility of banishment coming down the line, St Helena Island would seem a far away place imo, after all it was good enough for Napoleon
Understandably there is such a feeding frenzy around the man formerly known as Prince, that the best thing he could do would not to be visible at all. It's often mooted that, like disgraced politician John Profumo who redeemed himself, Andrew should immerse himself in charity work. The problem is he has no humility, and I wonder in spite of everything, whether he will lose "the big I am" attitude which came across loud and clear in the book, often treating others, especially subordinates as if they are something he'd scraped off the bottom of his shoe, so if he still carried that forward, in a scenario of embracing charity work, those around him, after everything, would not want to put up with that aspect of his character.

Boom boom!
Some young people are horribly vulnerable. I read a small extract from VG book ( can't stomach the rest)
Poor thing. So easily impressed by money and power. Abuse. To blame her seems awful really.
She didn't bring down a Prince, he did that all by himself.
Trial by media for sure and not proven guilty of anything, the one person that could tell the truth is keeping quiet, Ghislane Maxwell, she would know who did what when, but Andrew is probably the least of her concerns. Far more high profile people than him who are a real threats her.
Exile to Sandringham is tough call I’m sure there will be a few flunkies to care for him, he will have to find a hobby, something non controversial like woodwork or painting, any other suggestions?.
John Profumo redeemed himself and Christine Keeler went to prison
He needs to be brought before the court as they requested in the USA. Utterly ridiculous it’s taken so long to deal with this national embarrassment. £12 million was paid to keep him out of court - no way that suggests an innocent man. All those who have helped him get away with it should also be brought before the court - royal security, police protection officers and members of the royal family. It is odd that none of the police protection people were called to support or refute his statements about his whereabouts at the pizza place he claimed never who he danced with at the parties he said he ‘couldn’t remember’. It’s also long overdue that royal finances be made public. He could not have got away with his extravagant travels, suspicious ‘bribe’ payments, misuse of royal security for himself and his daughters on their multiple holidays and we’d know where the £12 million actually came from to buy off the US courts.
The royal wills should be public too. There’s no reason that is justifiable they are secret - then we will know what is really going on with our taxes.
Andrew is 65 or so I don’t see him being redeemed he will retire into obscurity if he is allowed to, would any charity want to be associated with him?
Will the royal brand be irreparably damaged I wonder?
Support I believe is still fairly high but it wouldn’t take much to tip the balance.

Talk is this is precisely why the palace has acted now Stone of Destiny to prevent this from happening.
This man’s nickname of many years is the clue to what was happening in his private life.
Ostracised by the rf, the press and the whole world he is going to have to be very thick skinned to survive this. Redemption is always a possibility but only if he acknowledges his wrongs.

Exactly. That’s why it all seems a bit over the top to me. There must surely be more to it.

The accounts for the Sovereign Grant are readily available if you wish to scrutinise them, StoneofDestiny.
What the Royal Family does with their own, private finances surely should be private just as ours is?
