The BBC. Bias is one thing. Lies and manipulation of facts entirely different.

Whereas, one can choose which newspaper one buys.
You can tell this ‘edit’ manipulation of what Trump said/HAMAS propaganda etc wasn’t done by GBNews!

Shocked?
I am.

Where did you get that absurd graphic from, Mollygo?

It look as if it may have come from "The Flying Frisby" Maizie.

This is run by Dominic Frisby who is a British comedian, Dominic Frisby is a British comedian, author and voice actor, known both for his satirical songs and his commentary on finance and economics. He has variously been described as, “mercurially witty”, having “a genius touch” and “all over the place”. In the UK, his best known song is "17 Million F* Offs".

Yes. The desperate attempts by those on here that support the more extreme left wing to try to convince us that it was

all a mistake
quite accurate really
justified because of who it was
not the BBCs fault
a rare occurrence
a right wing plot
an American plot
(take your pick)

have only served to convince me that that the BBC as it stands is a vital part of their political strategy.

Mollygo Wed 12-Nov-25 17:24:34

Don’t believe the pile on by lefties trying to defend the leftie BBC & arguing that it’s not got a left wing bias.

Petra don’t forget the paedophile Jonathan King. Worked for the BBC and was grooming young boys for years using his “fame” to do so.

Do not judge by one incident..

One incident.
There’s the post I put up in reference to the bbc lying about the Queen.
Jimmy Saville. They knew about the vile creature’s behaviour for years.
Gary Linekers tweet.
Not cutting the live feed at Glastonbury.
Hew Edwards. Known about for years within the BBC.
And let’s not forget their pieste du resistance: Martin Bashir.

Galaxy Mon 10-Nov-25 18:43:41

It isn't one incident. The leaked information covers a range of issues.

If you condemn the BBC, for fake news, then logically, you must also condemn Trump, bigly.

No we don't. The concern is about the BBC not remaining impartial, which is against their charter. It is also funded out of public money via the licence fee.
We have no control over Trump; he is not our responsibility.
The BBC is.

I was going to add my feelings about the editing of Trump's speech, but this thread has, as so many do, into point scoring between GNetters. What is the point of that?

I think all has been said by now.

*Trump puts his own people first*

Who are these own people please?

Billionaire donors to him.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Mon 10-Nov-25 15:22:23

Perhaps because more people voted for Reform than the LibDems or Greens.

Ilovecheese Mon 10-Nov-25 15:17:50

Reform would lose a lot of publicity without the BBC. A representative of Reforn is on Laura K or Question Time nearly every week.

Mollygo Mon 10-Nov-25 14:52:38

Seems the left think the BBC show too much right wing bias and the right think the BBC show too much left wing bias, each group proclaiming that only they are correct.

The problem is that the BBC by giving its reporters and presenters too much leeway has made itself a target for every side:
too left wing? - the infatuation with Farage;
too right wing? - the promotion of trans activism.

Your points will count just as much as anyone else’s, whichever side you’re on.
Go for it.

Retroladywriting if people like you don't contribute then nothing will change. Your views matter as much as any one else, just go ahead and post your comments, ignoring what you see as "point scoring".

I've been tuned into BBC news for an hour, dealing with it head on. Reporting themselves and doing it by bringing in a "round the table" group of people and recorded interviews from others.

The Conservative Party representative made it absolutely clear they want to keep The BBC TV and Radio, it's a matter of getting the right lead and a good examination of any bias,

But in his opinion it is a most valued British Institution.

It's coming from the Farage and the far right about abolishing the BBC.

Its is not a universal call, in anyway at all.

Bear in mind that we have just had a number of points made by right wing critics

But there are also equally strings of complaints as regards right wing bias, or matters not adequately covered, from the Left

Its just not likely that the Telegraph will report them

I think we must be due a new Trump thread. He morphs into most others on here.

You could hardly accuse this thread of morphing into a Trump thread, FGT. Its actual subject focusses on a documentary about him.

But do start another thread explaining how throwing thousands of people out of work, stoking racism and impoverishing millions by raising the cost of living by way of his ridiculous (and probably illegally imposed) tariffs 'puts his own people first'.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Mon 10-Nov-25 11:00:40

Maybe the BBC could split radio from tv.
Radio 3 for aficionados etc.

Trump absolutely puts his own Family first.
How much have they made since he came to power?

Grantanow Mon 10-Nov-25 10:43:00

The BBC should not be deprived of public support for limited errors, however high profile and trumpeted by the Right Wing press. If the BBC were forced to depend on voluntary subscription it would have to put on endless game shows and other trivia to survive. Most of the orchestras would vanish. John Reid developed it to educate and inform: that needs to be preserved.

I worry more about stories in some of the daily newspapers than I do about the BBC. It looks a bit like a Tory press campaign against the Beeb and that's nothing new. The BBC Charter is coming up for renewal and the anti-Beeb action usually starts ahead of that. Whatever it's faults the BBC is worth cherishing (along with the rather marginal Channel 4 News).

Are you serious?
Why don’t you google this matter and you’ll see what comes up about it!
It’s nothing to do with the Tories.

I noticed the Buffoon was quick to weigh in. Isn't he a Tory any more?
