Yes, hence the manufactured outrage now is obviously a part of a wider move to destroy our BBC. And too many are falling for it.

Don’t be silly, the outrage isn’t manufactured it’s very real.If the BBC head honcho’s hadn’t been so arrogant this wouldn’t now be big news and they wouldn’t have to have resigned.
Just because they commissioned outside companies to make documentaries for Panorama and such programmes doesn’t mean these programmes aren’t watched by the Heads of Dept before they air them. As for bias against Israel, it’s been noted for a long time, also bias against women in favour of transwomen.They know this and have admitted their ‘errors’ which of course weren’t mistakes at all but real bias .
Hoping that real changes will now be made.

Apparently he has not been completely 'truthful' in his version either. Was he also trying to spin the narrative to suit his accusation?

That’s interesting, Maremia. I have read that there are ‘questions’ to be asked about the whistleblower’s connections and motivations. I also get the impression that the leaked ‘memo’ is rather more extensive than one would expect a ‘memo’ to be.

There is a connection to Robbie Gibb a BBC board member - a Tory and May’s former communications chief. I can remember the shenanigans over his time with May and his sudden departure.

Ed Davey has called for his removal from the BBC board because of him being implicated in the whistleblowing. Gibb was also an editorial advisor for GB News.

His time as board member has not been wholly popular as he is known to constantly try to interfere with what should be independent editorial decisions, particularly as he was a political appointee.

Gibb and other political appointees should have no role in the appointment of a new DG imo.

Trying to rubbish the whistleblower now is it? Look, the Heads of the BBC do not resign for trivial reasons.
Mistakes, deliberate or otherwise and bias are very real and need to be addressed.The buck stops at the top.

Whistleblowers should be encouraged in large organisations like the BBC, NHS, Police, Fire Service etc. along with large Private Sector organisations.

Without whistleblowers, we are back to bullying and underhand shenanigans going unexposed, and the perpetrators going unpunished.

Right now I’m more interested in the latest that Trump‘s going to sue the BBC for 1 billion. Because if he does and he’s successful, guess who’s going to be paying for it.

It will be difficult for Trump to sue as I explained in my post earlier this morning.

There's a limit on how much trump could claim in the British court. I believe it's £250,000. At least that is what a lawyer said on BBC breakfast this morning. And it's a dodgy move anyway as it'll open up his actions to legal scrutiny. I'm not sure he would relish that.

This definitely. There are those who wish to destroy Britain by any means possible.

This foreigner has helped the UK by exposing very poor practices in the BBC. As a national broadcaster, the BBC needs to take full responsibility for its own mistakes. Shah as chairman doesn’t seem to have grasped what his organisation has done. Fake news is real and the BBC broadcasts it and no, it’s not okay.

He hasn’t exposed anything. He’s taken advantage of somebody else exposing something, for personal financial gain.

Er you do know how authoritarian you sound, that people who hold a different view to you should go live elsewhere. Sounds like a far right viewpoint to me.

It's only fake if it doesn't glorify him. Trump can't handle criticism.

I am certainly very supportive of any whistleblower, but I do not exercise my support without judgement.

One should always give consideration to the motive behind the information, and as a rule it is almost always for altruistic reasons, like people and children in care, NHS malpractice, or police conduct.

However, whistleblowing as a result of political motivation should be treated with great care.

Prescott’s letter fell short both on accuracy and formed part of a political attack. It is known that Gibb and Prescott have a relationship, and are well known by the BBC staff to work together pushing a particular political line, when the BBC is supposed to be as many on this thread say - impartial.

Ed Davey - recognises this and has called for his resignation.

I would like to add that the BBC of course is going to make errors, it would be world breaking if it didn’t, given the level and thousands of hours output, but it doesn’t warrant the hyperbole and calls for its demise we see on this thread and elsewhere.
