I can't remember the number, but over $2 billion he has illegally taken from Americans through unconstitutional taxation, or tariffs.

Trump - Epstein e-mails
(403 Posts)There are newly released e-mails, which implicate the big beast. Time to watch and wait I think.

It's taking money out of the pockets of Americans which is bound to depress the economy, whilst he's cutting back on the federal spending which helps Americans and provides valuable services. It seems absolutely bonkers unless his only aim is to reduce borrowing except that potentially will hurt the people who voted for him, less money in their pockets and less help available to help those in need and fewer jobs available will probably depress wages for those who are the lowest paid! Trump economics seems to be great for the richest but not for anyone else!

Problem is that Trump has no understanding of macroeconomics, and probably none of microeconomics either.
He is a businessman (albeit not a very successful one; blackmail being his speciality) and businesses are run completely differently from countries
Catching up this morning. I feel reassured that the comments about the Epstein information and about Mr Trump are imo, grounded, well I formed and accurate.
I’m sorry to hear two regular posters are banned. The report button silently anonymously and long term interesting posters banned seems crazy to me
The moderators make the decision based entirely on whether the author has contravened the Gransnet guidelines Reporting a post does not mean that the author will be suspended or banned, just that the moderators will read it and consider validity of the complaint, if one has been made.
Is there anyone who he doesn’t have in his back pocket, look at what he got away with before the election, we all know there are some big names mentioned in those emails but you can bet none of them will get charged with anything, it’s the same old thing one rule for the rich and famous and another rule for everyone else

But they don't. We've had at least one recent case of a poster who was banned who had done absolutely nothing to contravene the guidelines. Gnet had just made a big mistake.
Their guidelines, their decision.
Sorry for the lack of context. The video is what caused this reaction from Trump.

And sometimes incorrect. Which is the concern. As there appears little feed back or ability to right a wrong.

Another day in paradise.
These 6 officials, Democrats and Veterans, posted a video reminding the US Military members that they took an oath to the Constitution and should not follow illegal orders.
Trump wants them executed now.
He has lost the plot. No one will take him seriously - will they??
I actually think that Trump is showing signs of psychosis, possibly related to senile dementia or Alzeimers. He seems to have lost his political instincts, which have in the past, been very good. They are not now!
You may well be right foxie48, he recently seems to have lost the filter which stops politicians voicing their innermost thoughts in public. That’s a serious issue for him, because it might not be a journalist or political rival in the USA next time, and there would be repercussions.

It’s their site, their rules, posts do have to be pretty extreme to get deleted, I did get suspended once, I apologized and learned to moderate my posts.

I really don’t know. Some years ago if you asked me that question I would have said ‘of course not’. But the world has lurched so far right politically that now I really couldn’t say.
People seem to support the insupportable because it is now mainstream politics. Never thought I would see the day. Can only hope the younger generation will turn this tide.

I've been surprised/shocked to see these bannings myself.
That's the thing, ie that without posters there wouldnt be a forum. So it's a mutual thing - they've made the forum available, but we are the ones that post on it and without us the forum would sit there "empty".
I've not yet seen a post I think due for reporting - as all the posts I've seen to date have been either one personal opinion or another personal opinion and not done anything wrong. Sometimes one has to accept someone has a totally different opinion to oneself. Even at a personal level amongst my friends = I have two particularly good friends (no longer in the same area as me - but there's some VERY long phonecalls between us still). It's mainly the craic that we talk about - but I know one of them had That Jab and followed Lockdown and she knows I was being very active leading fighting back against all that - but we're still friends. The other one = I don't understand in the slightest why she's "on the wrong side" re Palestine (as she's a caring, compassionate person normally and so it doesn't compute why a nice person would be on the wrong side) but we're still friends and just don't talk about Palestine - as I know she'll start by calling it by that other name and it will go downhill from there.
But we're still friends - despite those HUGE differences of opinion (totally the other side of the fence) on those two major issues. That's how life is....
My American friend has lived in England forty years but has family and friends in the USA. She’s active in the Democrats Abroad group. She shares the view that Trump is dementing.
I’m not sure he has ‘lost the plot, lost the filter which stops politicians voicing their inner most thoughts’. I’ll be relieved if I’m wrong, but my feeling is his egocentric, narcissistic personality (disorder) is being fed by the psycho thanks around him. He knows no fear. He is The Trumpster, he can and will do exactly as he pleases
It’s terrifying. No one challenges him. He’s a nasty, bullying man with no decent moral code
He is getting dangerously close to causing problems with Mexico.
Apparently the US put up signs on a beach on the Mexico side of the border saying the DoD has restricted the area. And Mexico went huh?
And now the International Boundary and Water Commission may be getting involved.
He keeps "offering" to attack the cartels in Mexico and they keep saying no thank you.

It is hardly a case for the Nobel Peace Prize when you "negotiate" Ukraine and Russia and the solution you put forth is that Ukraine gives up all territory and Russia gets immunity, while at the same time violating another countries sovereignty.
A dangerous and sick dictator amongst us, as with other dictators in the world. I share Iam's view on his Mental State.
I also agree Imaround, trump has always been a loose cannon and with nobody to rein him in he will just continue to do exactly what he wants, he is like the arch villain in a Stephen King novel, but he is very real and very dangerous.
I imagine if he had been born into a lower income family he would have become a career criminal/gangster and now be incarcerated for his crimes. However, money bought him immunity from justice and the chance to become President.
Also his racist/far right spiel unsurprisingly appeals to people who are racist and far right. Seems there are a lot of them.
Mamdani met with him at the Oval Office today. A reporter asked Mamdani is he thought Trump was a fascist. Trump said, its ok you can be honest, I don't mind.
Socialism vs Fascism right there at the Resolute Desk. It is an image that I wont forget soon.
When he has gone, the scars will never go away. There is a programme starting on the Beeb soon about how all big scale civilisations fall, although they think they will go on forever.
Such was the British Empire: and in the UK we find a weird nostalgia for it rom certain groups in the population, who cant accept we are, after all, now a small European Island struggling like all the rest.
Sadly it will be a long haul and a great deal of suffering in the USA as Trump wrecks what was once so wonderful,
"Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door"
I think Trump would like to be compared with fascist leaders of the past and present. It appeals to his need to be seen as a strong and powerful male. What he doesn't understand is the need for an underpinning strategy that is cohesive and informs decision making. Project 25 gave him this initially but that was made for him but he's throwing those gains away. His chaos and indecisiveness weakens him and is starting to lose him support even from his staunchest allies. MGT is evidence of a much greater loss of support and he's starting to look weaker. Basically he's a lame duck but I think that will make him more chaotic and dangerous.
