It appears that the WI, along with Guiding, has finally accepted that the law applies to them as well as to the rest of us.

I am not a WI member, so much of what I know is from reading things like the thread on MN where a member's husband was refused membership as he doesn't 'live as a woman'. He took them to court, as they did allow transwomen to be members, so it was his lifestyle, not his sex that precluded his membership. Nobody can define what 'living as a woman' means, lifestyle is not a protected characteristic, and sex is legally based on biology, so it appears that he has won his case - I don't see how he could have lost, really.

Both the WI and Guiding express deep sorrow and regret at their decisions and are clearly 'giving in' grudgingly, but AFAIK neither asked their membership's opinions on things like having boys in tents with girls, or men at meetings supposedly for women, and from which men who don't claim to 'live as women' are excluded - the policies were imposed, not voted in.

I assume it's obvious that I approve of the policy reversals. At one time I would have argued that a very occasional man who had transitioned should be allowed in the WI, (although I would probably not have approved on teenage boys being in the GG), but since the recent forcing of the TRA agenda onto policies of various types my desire to protect women and girls has trumped a wish for everyone to live and let live.

It was apparently discussed on Women's Hour this morning, but I have been out all day, and missed it. Did anyone hear it, please, and if so, was anything discussed that contradicts my take on it all (ie that a women's and girls' groups should be for women and girls)?

Yes we know we are all far right. This doesn't work anymore, it isnt 2016.

It’s getting tiresome isn’t it?

Without trans women we wouldn’t have pride.
Wrong.
Gay people have fought for years for the right to be gay. They never lied about their sex or conflated the word sex with gender to try and disguise an untruth about having changed sex.

Many gay people feel that trans, particularly TW, have set their cause back a long way, but the TW who caused the issue, don’t care.

Only TW persist in using the word cis as if they feel that everyone should have a prefix. So . . .

I’m sorry you’re now feeling unsafe to go out, because you fear attacks by men, but that will give you a better understanding of how some men, including TW have made and continue to make females feel.

Why would men ask you for your sex when you want to pee? Not using a urinal is a dead give away.
What you wear doesn’t make any difference, though I mostly see TW wearing more flamboyant clothes that they perceive as meaning that they’re women, whilst females can happily wear anything, trousers, track suits, dresses, skirts, track suits etc. without having to prove anything.

I am not claiming to be far right I am laughing at the fact that you call women who want female only spaces far right. None of these words have any impact on me except to make me laugh.

The trans woman I dated mostly wore combats and wouldn’t be caught dead using a urinal ahahahahaa

Yet another example of “you can’t make me” or “you can’t stop me, so beloved of TW.
Gender neutral in your house? Why not, unless you regularly let random strangers who may be lying about what they are into your house, I don’t see a problem.
Do you really have a label on the door that says that?🤣🤣🤣

You feel as you feel. You are entitled to your views.

Others may not share your views, but they are as entitled to them as you are to yours, without being ranted at.

On an anonymous forum, saying what you are means nothing.

I would hope that your toilets were labelled “mixed gender” as they contained the baby changing facilities which are often only placed in women’s facilities 🙃

My toilets?

No, they were/are (don't know if they have changed) made 'mixed 'gender' so that men could use them as well as women. I don't know where men with babies changed them - I worked there for many years and AFAIK it never came up 🤷‍♀️. To be fair, not many women did either, but the fact remains. We would sometimes see a male wheelchair user in there, which was fine. Having male students congregate was unpleasant though, and I would imagine it was far worse on dark nights. After the change to 'mixed' I wasn't there in the evenings.

Are you proud to be openly gay in public or afraid to leave the house? The states seem to be contradictory.

Also - and just as a point of information - GN is social media, so by posting on here you are 'on SM', whatever you say.

Stonewall, formerly the organisation that campaigned for gay rights only added the T to LGB in February 2015. How very strange that all these trans people campaigned for years for gay rights with not a whisper about their trans rights until 10 years ago. It would be like cats campaigning for the dog's trust with no mention of cats protection. Of course it's pure coincidence that gay rights had largely been won and Stonewall needed another cause to keep it in existence.

I am a sex realist who knows nobody in the history of the world has ever changed sex.

I’m glad you find it funny. I doubt you’ll be laughing when you can’t go to the toilet in fear of being beaten up or assaulted being asked to prove your sex

But the reason many women are opposed to men in the Ladies is exactly that - fear of assault when they are vulnerable.

Doodledog Sun 14-Dec-25 12:35:56

Well said, Rosie.
