Many thanks for the link Allira and the links within that newspaper article. the elected Mayor of London has launched a £12million Green Roots fund to improve green spaces in London as part of Climate Action programme. Increasing biodiversity evidently an aspect of this.
Grants are being awarded via 5 rounds of competitive applications from London Borough local projects, not for profit organisations, resident community groups etc. So far nearly £3.5 million of grants have been awarded to 26 projects, one of which includes a Dad's club from a local school.
This Barking and Dagenham re wilding white storks and beavers project is one of the successful project bids submitted. It is the first re wilding project of this kind in London but not the first UK.
So, yes lots of consultation across all London Boroughs- all able to compete for a slice of this climate action pie.
What's not to like?
