I am quiet because I don't know what to say. I never thought I would see the day that my children would be affected by war in the US, but I knew this would happen eventually with this megalomaniac? He is building a force in the US against us as well with ICE.

I am going to focus on storing supplies while I can. There is nothing else I can do honestly. I will always use them if there is no emergency. While Trump does TACO, Steven Miller does not and he is committed to Greenland. And now we will have to deal with Russia. I really think he is going to hit Cuba soon too.

I'm feeling very apprehensive, on one hand quite glad I'm the age I am but worrying about family members and all their friends who are in their teens, just about to embark
on their adult lives, looking forward to their futures.

That is me Allira. My kids are just starting their adult lives. I am taking my youngest to college next week. My oldest is finishing up college, going to be married and have kids soon.

What on the heck do I say to them? They can't afford housing, they no longer have the rights their grandmother had, and one of them may end up on a list because of his diagnosis. And now they will live in a world where our allies became our enemies.

I certainly wouldn't recommend they have kids any time soon.

Yes, it feels as if some sort of pact was made by Trump and his cronies to become Bond villains after the new year intent upon world domination. It is even more incredibly shocking than anything so far, which is saying something.

One being the Able Archer 83 NATO exercise.
Our dear friend, now retired from nuclear subs was serving on a nuclear sub involved in this exercise.
The sub he was on went to red alert on that exercise.
I do believe it’s best not to know.

So sorry you are stuck with this megalomaniac and his henchmen, I did say in a previous post that many Americans are inward looking because domestic issues for such a vast country take precedence, but obviously these are very different circumstances and I presume many like you now worry about what is happening abroad, with allies forced to become enemies for the first time in my lifetime. Will the UK and Europe be forced to make a stand against Trump over Greenland as NATO members, against the biggest NATO member - the US, it sounds bizarre yet at the same time possible.
I really can’t think this through without feeling like banging my head against the nearest wall.

The only thing that helps in my view is that the combined forces of Europe would make mincemeat of Russia, but why on earth do we need to get to that position.

When you look back through tv programmes on the past, there have been loads of worrying or potentially worrying situations.
Russia has been a pain in the youknowwhat for decades and decades for a start. Fortunately no crazy despot has yet been crazy enough to start a nuclear war.
Other types of wars, conflicts, come and go.
The US flexes its muscles from time to time…this being one of those times!

And before then, Russian warships being provocative to RN vessels at sea, submarine activity we knew nothing about.

It has been continuous, although I'm not sure whether thi was happening when Gorbachev was in power.
