Sorry, but this horrifies me!

I know I’m pretty active on the N&P but so much is happening in this world of ours at the moment and most of it horrific and scares me.

There is also a very real danger that if the US attacks Iran the sizeable number of Iranians who are not hardline but presently sitting on the fence will rally round the regime in the face of this aggression from an enemy of old. This will embolden the regime and so be counter productive.

I certainly do not wish to see yet another war, nor one egged on by Trump.

I don’t know what the answer is though, I just want all the fighting to stop, not more to begin

That won’t help the Iranians will it? Trump needs to step in fast.

Trying to work out what Trump will do.

I think it is a dead certainty that there will no troops on the ground, nor will Trump go in for regime change.

He might try to kill the leadership, but I’m not sure where that will get him, as regime collapse is a way off I think.

I can’t see how bombing Iran’s streets will help.

And of course the USA record in carrying out this sort of exercise is pretty dismal.

It will be what Trump and his military and advisors do, not just Trump. He enjoys taking the credit but it won’t really be him making the important and strategic decisions.
I do think posters often think he does everything alone!

Um - sorry you’ve taken it so literally. If you gave it some thought you would understand that Trump is shorthand for the government. But of course Trump as head will take full responsibility.

Oreo Wed 14-Jan-26 20:10:08

But why is Trump shorthand for the government? If you think about it, before Trump nobody ever thought that way, it wasn’t what the President would do by name, it was ‘wonder what the US will do’ or ‘how will America react’.
This Trump, Trump, Trump thing is something new.I didn’t mean just you btw it’s done by many.

I doubt that many real decisions are taken by him in any case, I bet his advisors are used to giving him certain options to choose from.

As I have said Trump is the monkey not the organ grinder, he is a useful idiot who will say the kind of nonsense that keeps his fan club on board whilst those with nefarious agendas keep him spoon fed with praise whilst running the show.

Pleased to see that Middle East states have strongly advised Trump to lay off Iran - for a number of reasons, amongst which are -

it would cause chaos, division and further bloodshed in the area.

It would strengthen Israel’s hand and possible encourage another hard right.
