They are all complicit as they apparently pooled recourses to pay Victoria Guiffre
They have the best PR and without it nobody would be interested in royalty.
It’s a medieval concept and should have been left in the Middle Ages.
No one should be treated with such privilege just because of birth …

Yes, but the mystique is still there to a degree, and it seems to find favour with Trump, which is always useful.

^if he is jailed which he may be ...^

If he is charged and prosecuted ...

Strewth.

You can see now how it was planned and executed - stripping him of his titles etc, moving him to a small cottage. The choreography is clear.

I am waiting for a rescue mission from Andrew’s friends in Abu Dhabi…..

What an awful man he is. Im reading Andrew Lownies book on them called Entitled. What a family. The daughters also gravitating towards people with money. Who remembers the endless holidays they had prior to their marriages? How did they afford those? An update on the book is due shortly with even more in it. Apparently the author has been threatened.
Poor Virginia Giuffre who died before she could see him arrested. Awful family, the four of them.

Why and how did some members of the aristocracy come to be so badly brought up? Is there a culture of entitlement among our ruling elite? Are some of the famous fee-paying public schools to blame? Not all members of the old aristocracy are selfish and greedy.

It's Shakespearian, Roman or Biblical even

I realise today is about the money and the politics but surely the fact that he is implicated in the Epstein files, it's getting closer to hearing his testimony.

I’m now more impressed that our police service are acting on these allegations something that has possibly been known in certain circles for a long time.

Or should I say I’m more impressed that now our police are being allowed to act.

This has shown that all are accountable for their actions.

It has not always been the case.

nanna8 Thu 19-Feb-26 12:43:44

You would think that to actually arrest him they must be pretty sure of the case against him. I would guess things are worse than anything we are being told. If he is set free now without a charge people will always say it was because of his position - they are between a rock and a hard place at this stage.

*Sago*, thank you, see your reasoning now. thanks

Its a 5 bedroomed farmhouse - maybe a hovel to him but didn't Pince Philip live there in his later years?

Maremia Thu 19-Feb-26 12:51:45

For GNs not content with the charges against AMW, remember it was a tax charge that 'got' Al Capone.

That was Wood Farm, I think, where Andrew has been living until his ‘own’ new home, Marsh Farm, is ready for occupation.

Perhaps neither will be needed now?

I though this too, not within the protection of Castle or
Palace walls,
but isolate him from family and familiar, which as Diana
assured us, os the best way to break down a personality,
in an isolated property, as a ‘temporary measure’ his life
in boxes, before moving him into a low grade house on
a farmyard. In either dwelling he would be a sitting duck.

Members of the Press must be camped out there in order
to have taken pictures of the convoy arriving to take him away,
not even allowing him any privacy, under constant surveillance

This was a set up for sure, an astute post Whitewavemark

Well I bet Mandleson is having a stressful day as well, he's next.

The answer, quite simply is money. It is not just the aristocracy. It is very wealthy people - and it is mainly the wealthy arristocracy who act like this. Poorer members of the aristocracy, and there are many are many, usually act like the rest of us. Look at all the untitled wealthy people involved in these scandals. They see themselves as being just as entitled as any lord or Laby

I had a friend who was poor aristocracy, never used his title, I knew him as 'Mr Cholmondely-Smith'. A charming kind and thoughtful man.

vegansrock Thu 19-Feb-26 13:14:34

I think Andrew is basically dim and entitled.

Shocking update on AMW - it’s a very sad day for The Royal Family and all true Royalists
The historians will be putting pen to paper ….

Personally, I think it’s an excellent day for royalists. The trash is being taken out and hopefully the royal family can get back to doing what they’re supposed to be doing.

Unless you think the royal family should be above the law?

hulahoop Thu 19-Feb-26 13:19:27

Why do BBC need to cancel programs to keep repeating this over and over again when there is no news at the moment .

Tuliptree Thu 19-Feb-26 13:19:55

Apparently Princess Anne is on an official visit to HMP Leeds today. Make of that what you will 😂😂

It’s all relative

Casdon Thu 19-Feb-26 13:23:54

Princess Anne is not accountable for her brother now is she? If your brother was arrested for something you weren’t involved in, would you think that was your fault, and would anybody else? He is accountable.

Galaxy Thu 19-Feb-26 13:25:33

Yes surely this makes Mandelsson s position interesting to say the least.

I never suggested she was. Why did you make that up? I just found the timing of the visit quite ironic - not the best of timings. But there you go.

Casdon Thu 19-Feb-26 13:29:46

You said it to make a point Tuliptree.

Fallingstar Thu 19-Feb-26 13:30:11

Yep. Mandelson must be a tad worried, let’s hope the old bill knock on his door next.
