Happy to be corrected on this but I’ve just listened to TRIP and I’m sure they said that Rubio had implied that Israel were going to attack Iran and Trump thought he’d better get in first and get the credit. Too tired to listen to it again.

Israel is now fighting on a number of fronts.

I do wonder how on Earth it funds this perpetual war, as it isn’t just the hardware that must be bought, but there must be huge disruption to businesses and their employees who are called up.

Its debt must be enormous.

I do know that the USA funds it by a huge amount, and this is due to run out this year. Presumably Israel is busy negotiating another large level of refund, but we assume Trump won’t do this for nothing.

Wonder what. the taxation levels are in Israel. They are a tiny population comparatively so their ability to cause mayhem throughout the region must be finite I would have thought.

Don't know the answer to this but when the USA 'funds' Israel, do they add in the costs of armaments used in the defence of Israel?
Curious about this as so much fuss was made about the USA putting more into the NATO pot, in the defence of Europe.

I suppose its debt is in the form of bonds, which I guess are issued periodically.

I don’t know if the funding from the USA has conditions attached. I bet Israel has to buy USA armaments. But is this funding “free”?

Also what is happening to the businesses etc whose employees are off fighting these never ending wars? What is it doing to the economy?

I also assume that the USA have, in the past seen Israel being the belligerent party in the region as covering its own interest - oil etc, - but Netanyahu seems to want to go further than what is normal for Israel, so will this impact USA interest detrimentally?

Trump clearly only cares about those who support him and can make him ( yes, him, not the USA, richer).

It's amazing that a man who 5 times was a draft dodger is allowed to send brave service men and women off to fight. Iran has some of the worlds largest oil and natural gas fields and we are supposed to believe that Mr Trump has dived in because of morality for it's citizens.

At the recent medal ceremony Trump spent more time talking about himself and his curtains and live if gold than he did about the fallen and medal awards.

Exactly. Apart from Trump and others making huge amounts as the price of oil surges.

I wonder if those tax dodgers working in the Middle East and now need repatriating are paying for their flights back?
