Back to Trump and Iran war, my guess is that Trump is just playing for time and has absolutely no intention of ending this war. He's moving another 10K troops into the area. If I can see through his spurious tweets on Truth Social ( what a joke that name is) then I'm sure Iran can do. IMO this war is going to escalate and we will all pay for Trump's meddling, however the people who will really pay are the innocent citizens of Iran. What an absolute shambles!

Iran will never agree to Trump's 15 point plan however many days he gives them to accept it. If they can hold on to the Strait of Hormuz long enough the US may have tomthink again.
While it's closed to hostile shipping there will be shortages of food, technology such as components for mobile phones and batteries.
Prices will rise and Trump will be blamed. He is losing support daily and when people can't afford essentials his support will plummet.

I don't think Trump cares about losing support, he's not really a Republican so he's no interest in who is the next President. He won't be standing again because he'd definitely lose, not allowed a third term and he won't try for one as "he'd definitely lose". He'll keep going with the war because the Saudis etc don't want the ME left in a mess and Trump is making billions because of their patronage. Don't forget the Qatari plane that's going in his library! Trump is all about the money, he cares nothing for anyone other than himself.

I think you’re right foxie48, other than you didn’t mention his ego. I think he genuinely believes he is the best president ever, he has an obsession with winning, and seeing his name in lights. There isn’t a way this war can be won, by either side, and I’m not sure that has dawned on him yet. He will find it hard to live with billions and a trashed reputation I suspect.

Iran will hold out as long as it can to hurt the US and other economies as much as possible. It is succeeding and even if the war finishes soon it will take time for things to settle.

That’s what happened to prisoners of war – The British and the Allies in the Far East. They were starved to death by the Japanese. The same thing happened to the Jews in the concentration camps during WW2.

When Israel was bombing Gaza and starving the Palestinians, the Israel embassy in Singapore wrote an article on their embassy website, quoting the Quran to defend the Jewish settlements and justify their actions.

The article stated that the Quran mentions Israel 43 times and not once did the Quran mentions Palestine. The word Israel in the Quran does not even refers to the State of Israel, it refers to Bani Israel the descendants of Prophet Jacob.

Singapore government ordered the Israel embassy to remove that post.

I suspect you're right. I honestly think Trump wanted to go down in the history books as some kind of hero who "sorted" the Middle East problem. He hasn't a clue about strategy; it just seems he thought he could shout loud enough and people would quake when threatened by the richest country in the world.

I don't see how the US is going to win yet or even get Hormuz open, a land operation even on a restricted scale could mean a lot of casualties whereas a blockade could be done with much less risk.
War is a dirty game, you don't win by being nice, it's well last time that Iran got some of its terrorism repaid.
