I feel so sad. She was such a great advocate for women. RIP

Shock, horror! jenni wrote for both the Daily Mail and Daily Express!! Some on here won’t like hearing that.

What a strange way to respond to the death of a woman of our generation who brought so much positivity to our lives

She wrote regularly for the Guardian too: why on earth should we mind, she was spreading concerns for womens issues across the board. 💐

Surely you have noticed that many on here detest the Mail and Express. They even say they will not read articles on health for example which come from reliable sources like BMJ just because it is in the Mail. Crazy I know, but there we are.

Do you have any comments about Jenni or are you simply wanting to create division

I already made my comments about Jenni earlier. I always read her column in Saga Magazine and often heard her on Woman’s Hour.

Leaving any inappropriate political debate aside, I am mourning the death of Jenni Murray who contributed so much to journalism and broadcasting.

This photo was taken of Dame Jenni Murray in July 2025

That photo of Jenni is not how I think of her. Despite being overweight, she had a beautiful face and looked young for her age. That photo is not a good advert for losing weight.

I loved listening to Jenni on the radio, I would like to have seen more of her on the TV. She was the type of person I'd love as a friend, one who lights up a room.

RIP Jenni 💐 x

Oh I so hope this is true, someone on X is saying they remember when her mobile went off live on air, and her ringtone was the Cagney and Lacey theme tune smile

Galaxy I saw that too, made me smile.
I've been playing "I am woman" the words are so apt for Jenni.

I love the Cagney and Lacy theme suggestion.
I heard her as guest speaker at a Manchester do, she was every bit as entertaining and fun as could have been hoped

Her Women’s Hour was, imo simply the best. I wonder how much of that for me, is Jenni sharing our generations experiences and driving forces. I still listen to Women’s Hour. Mi often feel in its current incarnation it sees the menopause as the end of life as we know it

Don’t want to detract from this thread as commemorating Jenni - maybe we start a separate thread..
