Guardian, March 17th: we missed this at the time:
Newly unearthed Nigel Farage videos reveal support for rioter, neo-Nazi event and far-right slogans

No didn't miss this article at the time regarding Farage's extremist content in his profit making cameo videos. What wouldn't Farage do to make money? He "paused' his cameo account after the Guardian article was published- citing 'security concerns'.

Farage has made further different headlines since 17th March, as is his want. Evidently not enough interest 3 weeks ago to start a post about this.....

I must admit to being shocked even by Farage.

On April 9th

"BREAKING: another crypto billionaire has just handed Nigel Farage £4 million.

That takes the amount donated to Reform by crypto billionaires to £16 million."

16 Million to political part by the very wealthiest - US style politics here we come.

I have never seen anything antisemitic in any of Farage’s speeches. He concentrates on boat migrants and I have listened to most of his speeches. I don’t particularly like the man but trying to shock people into disliking him with untrue comments doesn’t help.

It would seem that any chance of trying to get oneself elected to the White House, and any political position in the US, needs an amazingly unthinkable amount of money.

And, as indicated, active participation in the democratic political system of most countries is now only open to the rich.

Well, terriffic! Democracy can be 'democratically' bought by a very wealthy minority of the electorate.

So - you therefore have proof positive that "untrue comments" are, in fact, untrue? Ciao.

Grandmabatty Sun 12-Apr-26 06:50:11

Nanna8, if you knew anything about Farage, which you obviously don't, you would know he has made anti semitic remarks as far back as school. They are well documented.

Think Trump - think Farage.

Entirely different characters - entirely similar politics.

What you get with Trump you get with Farage, except Farage doesn’t have the access to huge wealth (although they are illegally working on that).

But they both " tell it as it is" apparently.

Wyllow3 Sun 12-Apr-26 07:52:00

Please actually read the text of the article referenced in the O/P and watch the mini videos before you say, "no no, he doesn't say anti-semitic things!

"Nigel Farage has sold videos in which he endorsed a neo-Nazi event, repeated extremist slogans and supported a man convicted over his involvement in a far-right riot. The videos are among several highly questionable clips identified by the Guardian in an investigation into the Reform UK leader’s use of the personalised video platform Cameo"

"They include videos in which he repeats a motto associated with the UK far right, references antisemitic conspiracy theories and makes misogynistic remarks about leftwing politicians – including a comment about the US congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s breasts

Maremia Sun 12-Apr-26 07:52:23

Will the proposed UK law on foreign donations to UK political parties curb dodgy donations?

Where is "it" like they say it is?

Listening to Dominic Sandbrook on the Tech Bros - those extraordinarily wealthy individuals who got rich on technology. Sandbrook also included (mainly male) those who work in the tech industry.

They tend to support fascist policies, - think of those turning up at Trumps inauguration and their support of fascist outfits throughout the world.

Farage is, and will undoubtedly benefit from their support.

Everything crossed for Hungary today.

Despite Trump giving his full support to Orban, it looks as if this election will see an end to Orban’s. reign.

Cossy Sun 12-Apr-26 08:26:49

Anyone who has followed Farage over many years and has listened to his mates from long ago, even back to school, is aware that he “admired” Hitler and the Nazi regime.

Sorry Wyllow I just replicated this thread.
Didn’t see this.

Wyllow3 Sun 12-Apr-26 08:50:46

Just give this threads ref on yours?

Wyllow3 Sun 12-Apr-26 08:53:30

I’m not on my computer atm, but an Orban thread might be good, lots of issues there?

Have you seen the piece at the top of this thread?
As a Jew I find your post alarming. Just as anyone of a differing colour or religion will.
I remember when racists - skin heads in bother boots - would meet in grubby East End pubs in London, they operated on the fringes, but Farage and his cronies have made it mainstream politics, the same as Trump.
Your refusal to see this is your choice but is a slap in the face to those who are targeted by the far right.

Fallingstar Sun 12-Apr-26 08:57:48

And for those who bleat about how terrible anti semitism is but support Farage, you should really have a serious word with yourself about what the far right are all about.

twaddle Sun 12-Apr-26 08:58:16

Fallingstar, you don't have to be a Jew to find the post alarming, although it must be much worse for the targets of Farage's hatred. You're not alone.

A speech Farage would never give.

*Mark Carney, "Canada is a nation forged through accommodation, not assimilation"

"Through partnership, not domination"

"The founding insight of our country is that unity does not require uniformity*

Grandmabatty Sun 12-Apr-26 09:04:03

Fallingstar, nanna8 frequently opines on subjects that she doesn't have full facts upon because she lives in Australia.
