Orban has lost in Hungary

I was responding to petra …, so no, not my deflection.
Have you tried ChatGPT Casdon? Completely different view and much more accurate.

It uses the same sources ronib. When information comes from the Royal Navy’s own site it provides the same detail whichever search engine you use? I guess you are a stranger to AI, or you would not ask questions like that.

I was overjoyed to hear this news!

Definitely amazingly positive news after 16 years of Far Right and the waning of Trump´s influence as well.

Really, now it too with be flooded by the boats

Are you far left, what's with this left and right

jakuss, please could you explain what you mean because I don't understand your posts (and I don't suppose I'm the only one).

Laughably Magyar is described as centre right.
He will do exactly what he is told by the EU.

You are entitled to your opinion, but have you any facts to back this statement up?

Magyar has won because he is promising a more democratic government and is aware how dangerous Russia is.

Good news in my book. I am inclined to feel that any politician who can see that we need to defend ourselves equally against Putin and Trump, allow the gay commumity freedom to conduct their private lives as they wish, and that we should try to help those displaced by tolitararian states, climate change, or sheer famine is worth celebrating.

Almost eighty per cent turn out. That's democracy.
Trump has just lost an ally.

Hear, hear AuntieE 👏👏👏

Putin will have to find other ways of interfering in Europe. He is already " interfering " with the internet at my DDs Uni in Estonia.

Don't get too excited, ladies. I think the people of Hungary are afraid of Russia and that is the reason for this result. I don't believe that a population would change its outlook so drastically as to swing from Right to Left so soon.
Time will tell, of course, but if you think Hungary will now be content to come under Ursula's thumb I think you are going to be disappointed.

Very pleased, hope things get better for the people.

Hoorah ! 🫶🫶🫶 🥳🥳🥳

But we all know that the UK doesn’t have the capability to send ships to support the blockade… so in the circumstances, we have no choice but non involvement.

You are obviously unaware of HMS Duncan. Classed as the most advanced warship in the world.
Btw. In active service at this very moment.

They were sick of Orbans's corruption and his links to Putin. There were pictures of Ursula VDL and Zelensky all over Hungary in support of Magyar. Hungarians see strength in the EU membership. Hooray!

But Magyar isn't "left". I'm a bit confused by this post, especially the bit about Hungary being "under Ursula's thumb".

I’m confused too. Sticking with Orban would have been the logical thing to do if people were so afraid of Russia, you don’t abandon Putin’s biggest European allies unless you want change,

They haven't swung from Right to Left.

Orban was an extreme far-right Nationalist
Magyar is a centre right, moderate Conservative.

What Allira said ^

Hungary has been wary of and sometimes frightened of Russia since the country staged an uprising in 1956 to remove the country's oppressive communist government and the hated AVO secret police. The Russians decided to invade and crush the uprising and thousands of Hungarians were killed. It's likely Orban saw that by staying friendly with Putin, the Russians would leave Hungary alone.

Doesn’t sound like Magyar is going to be under the EUs thumb. Said he’s not accepting illegal migration, only those that go through the correct procedures.
The fence isn’t coming down & will remain. Where it is damaged it will be repaired.
