Viktor Orbán effectively wrote a playbook for modern right-wing populism - one that leaders like Donald Trump and Nigel Farage have followed. But empowering extremism is a risky strategy, and it doesn’t ensure long-term control.

Orban had just been in power too long, 16 years.Like the Conservatives found last year, people just want a change. Since he was a friend of Putin it’s better for Europe that he’s gone.
