The difficulty Trump has with the Pope, is that he (the pope) doesn't have an army (Swiss Guards excepted) much in the way of weapons and the territory of Vatican City is pretty small. tarriffs will not affect them, nor will oiland gas blockades. it doesn't have a navy either.

All the pope has to do is to do his job of leading the catholic church and speaking on morality, and just let Trump and his minions ramp up the personal abuse and ludicrous 'holy' pictures of Trump. I expect the next one will present him as Pope.

I note that the Pope, an American citizen, has decided not to go back to the US while Trump remains President. It is good to know that one country in the world has a head of state who is in his right mind and intelligent.

Despite not being a Catholic, I am loving this Pope. I was biased to begin with because he is an American, but he is a beacon of goodness and right in a world that has just gone to poo because of Trump.

This is interesting. My algorithm gave me an article in The Guardian about Vance, Opus Dei and The Pope. That somehow led me to this article from the National Catholic Register.

The article was from February, long before Vance started mouthing off to the Pope. Catholics don't seem to care for him much. I can't imagine this week will make it any better.

As for the theory, it is both crazy and plausible at the same time, as with everything surrounding this administration. It would definitely make sense of his arrogance at telling the Pope to keep quiet on theology matters, or whatever he said.

Trump is just an idiot who had probably never seen a Bible in his life until he was in agitated the first time, which is why he is too stupid to realize the backlash he was going to get.
