Just seen in the news that the Met re deploying 4,000 extra police officers in London tomorrow, including armoured vehicles on standby.

If they are that concerned why haven’t they taken action to stop these marches or made them into standing rally’s in contained areas?

Our beautiful capital city once more rendered a no go zone.

Added into the mix it’s also the F A Cup final at Wembley Stadium.

All in the week when London has been named the number one city in the world for culture šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

But I do agree GG13, if that's your meaning, that chanting hatred, whoever it is, should be legally challenged.

It will happen GG13 expressly because the cloth eared not listening and sneering has been going on for some time.

You were not talking about the government Oreo. When did the government sneer exactly?

Of course I was talking of the government, unless posters on here have somehow got into important positions of power.
MP’s, and Ministers and Starmer dismiss the worries and very real concerns of the man/woman in the street, and it wasn’t much better under the Conservatives either was it? Which is why they aren’t in control now.
I really hoped Labour would do well after so long in the wilderness but it looks as if they’ve forgotten their core voters.
And anyone who dismisses this problem had better get used to Reform continually winning.

Why would Jewish people go on a march that increases hatred for Jews?
Sounds like nonsense.

Strangely enough not all Jews are a homogeneous mass, just as Muslims are not or Christians.

Neat put down?
It was rude!

Yes of course, Maremia, but so "par for the course" one gets used to it and returns as I did to my actual post and its content.

I assume you re referring to the pro-Palestine marches?

I asked upthread why there were people of all ethnicities on the Unite the Kingdom march, which according to some posters spreads hatred towards non whites…

Oreo Mon 18-May-26 16:50:22

Not rude just true.

Maremia Mon 18-May-26 16:52:25

Yrs, true that your response was rude.

Oreo Mon 18-May-26 16:54:07

Yrs?
We will have to disagree won’t we?😁

Maremia Mon 18-May-26 16:55:17

Yrs, as usual.

Maremia Mon 18-May-26 17:00:58

Just re-reading upthread, about getting used to Reform winning.
Yes, we are getting used to Reform winning, and then the winning candidate being bombed out, for such a variety of reasons. There was a Thread keeping count very recently.
Expensive.

Oreo Mon 18-May-26 17:04:53

I don’t want to see Reform or the Greens in power or even power sharing but can see it happening as the result of ordinary voters not feeling listened to.

Maybe you should ask one of them, as you're so sure they did. Those who didn't go are hardly likely to know.

I have eyes in my head and I watched the news reports, so there were definitely people of different ethnicities at the Unite the Kingdom march.

I do not know anyone in my wide and varied friendship group who went on either march.

Maremia Mon 18-May-26 17:18:39

Talking about enjoyment, did anyone see footage of the 'entertainment'?
Before the march, he said it would be better than Glastonbury.

If there were people at the Yaxley-Lennon Hate rally who simply want to be ā€˜listened to’ and don’t support his racist views, I wonder how they feel about the dehumanisation of Muslim women, and the misogyny, on stage at the rally?

I’m not posting the link because I find it repulsive, but it’s out there for all those ā€˜innocents’ who are apparently ā€˜fearful’ to look at … should they be bothered.

I can’t ask any of them myself because I don’t know anyone who attended the rally - maybe someone on here does.

We’re all entitled to our own views. My view is that people who attend Yaxley-Lennon rallies know exactly what they’re about, and their attendance equals support!

Doesnt the dehumanisation of Muslim women come from men, ie Iran?

GrannyGravy13 Mon 18-May-26 18:10:47

The men of Afghanistan have erased women from public life

No schooling, cannot speak in public, cannot go outside the home, cannot be seen from the outside in their own home, I could go on, but I think younger the picture.

That in my book is dehumanising Muslim women.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 18-May-26 18:11:21

you get not younger 😔

Wyllow3 Mon 18-May-26 18:18:27

Do we really have to go through this again?

Of course that is happening in Afghanistan, it doesnt mean to say being a Muslim = women oppressed.

Sigh.

And it's different in Iran and Afghanistan as well, in Iran women could enter higher education but there were other restrictions we could never agree to nor would the Muslims in my interfaith group..

If you see even a pro Iranian Regime demonstration women are there out of the house but they have to wear headscarves. Their TV interviewers include women.

It was LizzieDrip that posted about the dehumanising of women, I answered.
