Henry Nowak…….an absolute tragedy.

How has the tragic case of this young man not caused outrage?

Imagine if he had been a person of colour or ethnic minority.

The Police handling of this case raises serious questions.

The killer behaved appallingly, lying to Police and then getting his family to hide weapons and cover for him.

It’s also astonishing to learn Sikhs can carry these knives in public because they are “ religious regalia”

For anyone that isn’t aware of this tragedy here is a link.

Nenry's family showed such dignity again as they walked out of Downing Street after their meeting with Starmer. Bedenoch has also met with the family and posted on X:

"They have asked that we work across political parties and religions to rebuild trust in the police. That trust has been broken because of what happened, and I agree with them on that.

We must also be prepared to examine, carefully and seriously, religious practices or exemptions that permit the carrying of dangerous weapons in public, and other activities that are not conducive to the public good. We also need to examine where the law needs to change.

Henry’s family do not want anger to tear communities apart. They are a family who have friends across faith and race, and so did Henry. His family want his memory to help bring our society together".

Let's hope all the political parties can work together to rebuild trust in the police and bring society together as the family wish.

petra

This article written by an ex high ranking officer who resigned from the force because of the doctrine of both political parties.

mol.im/a/15879673

Would you be able to give us some idea of what this officer said, petra? I'm afraid I have no desire at all to subscribe to the Daily Mail in order to read it..

I'm not going to subscribe to the Daily Mail either, but the link allowed me to see that the article is written by Paul Birch, whose name I recognised. He's a former counter-terrorism officer, who now makes his money by writing about "wokeness". I suspect this www.spiked-online.com/2026/06/02/henry-nowaks-death-reveals-a-police-force-corrupted-by-wokeness/ has the same content as the DM article.

He evidently has definite views and is entitled to his opinion, but it is no more than an opinion.

Obviously Paul Birch knows more about it than you or I.

Now Rick Prior, former Chairman of the Metropolitan Police Federation has also spoken out in a similar vein. There will be more true accounts given no doubt.

No doubt you will dismiss him too because it doesn’t suit your agenda. 🤔

He can't be 'dismissed' by anyone who hasn't access to the article.

However, his article will be targeted at a particular audience. Those not in his target audience might disagree but we'll never know because no-one will supply a precis of the article.

LemonJam Sun 07-Jun-26 18:30:55

I don’t know who Paul Birch is but as it’s said he earns his living by writing about “wokeness” that says something.

That he resigned from the police because of “the doctrine of both political parties I can’t comment on as I don’t know the context or detail.

It's good and amazing to see that Starmer and Badenoch appear to be on the same page, on this tragic issue.

Yes it is. I’m no Kemi fan but I think she’s responded to this well. And it’s right our leading politicians work together on the issues surrounding this tragedy.

I’ve some experience of diversity equality inclusion training though I’m twelve years retired so not up to date. Our training was multi agency, sw, health, education, police etc. it’s the most challenging training to deliver, participants close down, st contributing and many resent being as they see it, criticised or patronised. We usually had so called experts in for the period allocated to this subject, I feel cringe just thinking about it.
These days participants will have had years of Dei input at school, during their university courses and in ongoing training in the work place. We tried to ensure it was simply an integral part of training and imo that worked more effectively and encouraged open discussion

I don't think this has been posted, it's the full 999 call made by the brother, in which he says Henry is drunk, which was an absolute lie.

What an unpleasant snide comment from both of you - would that you could both contribute so eruditely and informatively as Lemonjam.

It’s true that over long posts can’t be constantly reposted as quotes or they do take up the whole page nearly. Also if posters dip in and out of threads as most do it can be a case of TLDR.

Surfups and Primrose Can you not save your snides and outright rudeness for other posts less important and heartbreaking than this one? 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

I understand posters who choose not to read or respond to any they consider TLDR including mind. However when a poster is accusing me specifically of gaslighting them I reserve the right to post their original post and my reply offering the chance for them to clarify and explain.

That can be true but it doesn’t have to be stated so unpleasantly and jeered at as some previous posters have does it?

The only good that may come out of this is new (old) common sense policing.
New and sensible training that ignores skin colour.

Cossy Sun 07-Jun-26 19:10:07

Let’s just stop with the nastiness, accusations and sarcasm and thank our lucky stars we are not face the heartache and grief that Henry’s family are, and who are dealing with it publicly with such dignity, restraint and respects.

Perhaps we can take a leaf out of their book. flowers

Nothing rude about any of my posts. If a poster states I’ve said something I haven’t I will defend my position. You may not like that but that’s not my concern. It’s a shame this thread regarding the dreadful murder of young Henry Nowak and the truly despicable actions of the police has been somehow twisted into a discussion on the murder of a George Floyd but that’s not my doing.

RIP Henry flowers
