Oh I so hope...but I also hope it will mean their well being is better respected.
The land is dry, and the people are ...stupid?

What those people must be going through. Having had a few hot days gives us some understanding. To be without water and a home in the heat. The whole place is destroyed. And now Trump is waiting for Netanyahu to finish it off.
Oh I so hope...but I also hope it will mean their well being is better respected.
Hamas has agreed to Trump's plan to disarm in Gaza. Israel have yet to respond.
This is good news if it actually happens but I will wait and see.
It would mean Israel would withdraw from Gaza and the settlers removed.
Hamas has changed of plan “ to kill all Jews” ! ?

Not a hope in hell
You are right Whitewave. It will be another of Trump's plans that doesn't work.
Israel wants to take the whole of Gaza bit by bit so will not agree.
Not sure what Hamas is thinking but it seems unlikely they will give in at Trump's request.
Apparently the HAMAS Covenant in which they vow never to stop their Jihad until Israel and every Jew is wiped off the face of the earth. They are simply buying time.
Personally I am at the point where I do not believe the current POTUS’s announcements on Truth Social.
When they fail to happen it is always someone else’s fault…
HAMAS are ultimately a mafia-style paramilitary group making vast sums of money using all those concrete tunnels. The Gaza conflict gave them legitimacy in the eyes of the left wing. But ultimately, they are criminals. And criminals, as we know, keep their guns.
I did have hopes when I read of the plan this morning.
Yes, wait and see.
Hamas has only one aim and that is to eradicate all Jews.
Trust HAMAS? 🤣
In 2005, Israel withdrew from Gaza. Every settlement was dismantled. Every permanently stationed Israeli soldier left. The world hoped Gaza would become a model for Palestinian self-government and a stepping stone to peace.
Instead, Hamas turned it into a fortress.
After winning the 2006 elections, Hamas violently seized power in 2007, murdered it’s opposition, driving Fatah from Gaza and ending any prospect of democratic rule. In keeping with the Middle East, other than Israel, there have been no further elections. Political opponents were eliminated, dissent was crushed and Gaza was armed by Iran and a became another Islamist dictatorship.
Why did Netanyahu give that money to Hamas, way back then?
Learned about that on a GN Thread?
Netanyahu did fund Hamas through Qatar. He wanted rid of the Palestinian state and thought that arming Hamas to fight against them would work but as The Times of Israel stated it "blew up in our faces".
So yes Netanyahu is responsible for starting Hamas.
AGAA4 is right.
Look at this wikipedia article.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qatari_support_for_Hamas#:~:text=In%20a%20controversial%20deal%2C%20Israel's,establishment%20of%20a%20Palestinian%20state.
quote from within the article
In a controversial deal, Israel's government under Benjamin Netanyahu supported Qatar's payments to Hamas for many years in the hope that it would turn Hamas into an effective counterweight to the Palestinian Authority and prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state.[8]
So some posters above need to adjust their view?
here is the article from Haaretz this morning on the deal as regards Hamas weapons so the details are available
"Israeli strikes reportedly kills six in Gaza; Hamas disarmament deal 'nearly finalized,' source says
In Cairo, Hamas has agreed in principle to hand over its weapons, but not to Israel, Palestinian sources familiar with the negotiations told Haaretz.
According to the sources, the organization has agreed to transfer its weapons to a mutually agreed Palestinian body. How the handover would be implemented, and which arms would be surrendered when, remains unclear, the sources said.
A diplomatic source involved in the Cairo talks told Haaretz that mediators and representatives of the Board of Peace are advancing a proposal that would place all weapons in Gaza under the "full control" of a Palestinian technocratic committee. The source added that Hamas would have no role "either on the front lines or behind the scenes" under the proposed arrangement.
The main point of contention in these talks revolves around which weapons systems would be included, with the focus currently being primarily on heavy weapons and strategic military capabilities, including long-range rockets, heavy mortars, anti-tank missiles and advanced weaponry, as well as weapons manufacturing and storage facilities.
Later on Thursday, a source from the Board of Peace said that significant progress has been made in the talks, and that the board is "close to finalizing" an agreement that could be signed in the coming hours or days. While there "could be last-minute surprises," he said, the Board of Peace believes there are "agreements on the critical points, or close to agreement."
Israeli strikes across the Strip overnight into Thursday morning have killed six people, including two children, and wounded at least 34 others, according to Gazan medics and Palestinian media reports.
Had a search online choughdancer, for that organisation, Standing Together.
Lots of positive comments and info.
Thanks for the update Wyllow

Of course they are, and demanding that Israel withdraw their troops before they, hamas will disarm.
They will possibly then give up some weapons but keep the cache of armoury in the tunnels they have built.
They have been much weakened by Israel and the flow of money and guns disrupted by Iran has likely slowed.
They will then attempt to get on this so called Palestinian technocratic committee.
Trump's Board of Peace to the rescue.
Who still belongs to this organisation?
Israeli officials say they will not pull troops back until genuine Hamas disarmament.
How will that ever be proved. There are so many tunnels and other hiding places where Hamas could have been stockpiling weapons.
Trump's plan won't work.
Hmm. How many have.
Not all Jewish Israelis support the actions of the present government under Netanyahu. The website of Rabbis for Human Rights, who assist Palestinians on the West Bank whose territory is under threat, is very interesting. rhr.org.il/en/
They are indeed. And some are scared to say so.
I have some across this group, and I think they may well be very worth supporting - my cousin knows a lot more than me and reckons they are very good. It is medical not political
