An interesting article as for nearly three years I have been having a lot of interesting conversations about what is happening in Mali with my older son as he worked in Mali for nearly three years until it became too dangerous for any Europeans working there. He once arrived at the International airport when there was a coup.
While he was there he always had a guard to meet him at the airport and the Canadian firm. who he works for, had to be totally guarded.
For these reasons I believe Trump would find it difficult to get involved with a country who are having coups.

He has alienated most of the planet with this ludicrous war, and even at home his ratings have dropped like a stone with prices on the rise, and having to ask for $Billions more to pay for more missiles to fire at the Iranians (having promised "no more wars").

The Epstein files are a constant irritant, and a significant subset of his support have begun to realise what crooked scum he really is -- and always was. Goodness knows what dodgy film the Russians have on him, from back when he was trying to get hotels in Moscow.

Trump needs to be looking in his own backyard. If he doesn't end the Iran war soon, then there is a possibility of starting WW3. China and Russia will join in. All the countries where there are US bases may opt not to support the US for fear of being targeted by the Iranians. . Since Trump is so transactional, those countries should charge him for using their bases too. So from where is he going to launch his offensive if he cant use these bases as a launching pad? Strange, how Israel has gone very quiet, having started this illegal war with Trump? Taiwan will be rich pickings for China as I can't see how the US can defend it with Trump meddling on so many fronts. I fear Trump has opened up a Hornet's nest which he doesn’t know how to close.

Mali had been fighting a civil war with Rebels from the north alledgedly backed by Algeria, previously the government was backed by Russia through the Wagner group. That has ended and the government is looking for support, what's in it for Trump.?

Mali has a large mining industry Gold, Diamonds, Lithium and Rare Earths, is the probable reason, competing with China for resources.

If it is true if there was a serious war with China or Russia we would all be at risk because our weapons are also depleted. If the US is to continue the war it has to use the type of cheap low tech weapons that Iran uses.
