There’s absolutely zero evidence that JA has serious mental health problems. There’s also zero evidence he’s autistic. He’s obviously a fantasist, and there are many that indulge in such behaviour, I’ve met several such people from school through to various working environments and socially. They are in every social strata.
The difference with this man is he is not only black but neurodivergent (supposedly), had a difficult start in life and has overcome horrendous hardships to achieve such high honours. As more than one commentator put it he had a full house on the bingo card of adversity and Cambridge wanted him as their poster boy.
I believe he’s gone through life weaving these fabulous tales and so called serious, intelligent people in academia have enabled, encouraged and ultimately elevated him and so he just kept going. He probably couldn’t believe how easy it was himself.
So yes, I agree with Boris and others on this. Those on high have a lot to answer for and it is only fitting that some of them take the fall along with Jason Arday as they facilitated this.
