“Tommo” has been arrested for the slashing of the dinghy, he appeared in court today and denied bail.

A Syrian migrant appeared in court accused of raping a 15 year old schoolgirl and sexually assaulting another teenager.

He has been bailed until his hearing on 1 August 2028!

We could argue all day long as to wether Tommo should have done what he did, the point is he going to spend his first night in prison when a potential paedophile and rapist is not behind bars and could disappear in the 22 months before his trial.

This is why so many people are so angry, it Lucy Connolly all over again.

The likely question is for how long- and Tommo is not helping his case by a not guilty plea, which if found guilty will be seen as an aggravating factor rather than mitigating factor in an attempt to reduce prison term.

Comes across somewhat martyr like?

Casdon

I would be cursing him right now if I was his pregnant partner with four, presumably young, children already. That’s a lot for any woman to cope with.

Probably busy being a Pink Lady.

I wonder when Thomas last did a day of hard graft on someone's roof to win bread?

And turned up on time, took photos of the roof and gave a quote?

Even Tommo's KC believes Tommo is likely heading to a custodial prison sentence....

His family will be fine (financially).

No doubt there’s already a “gofundme” and there will be further funding from dubious sources.

His good mate Yaxley-Lennon can fund him.

You could be correct Cossy. Think I spotted a story about one on Facebook.
It's one way to earn an 'honest wage', isn't it?

It's obvious to me what this is it's two tier justice (1984 George Orwell) can't have the people (us plebs) protesting and being upset about what is happening to our country can we.

With due respect - this is nonsense.

The people (plebs) of Piddington managed to show how upset they were by protesting, and by using a creative and novel way, to gain media attention, without breaking the law and without violence.

NO government is going to respond to mob-rule tactics, or individual acts of violence - particularly if it's designed to incite others to do the same - by capitulating to intimidation. These are the tactics of tin-pot regimes where a country descends ultimately into chaos and violence.

If the Tommy Robinsons, 'Tommos', and black balaclava-wearing patriots organised themselves into a hundreds-strong - maybe even a thousand+-strong - disciplined and peaceful protest in Central London, they would be far more likely to be listened to and taken seriously.

- and if they weren't listened to - then they could cry 'victimisation'...

Maremia Sat 26-Sept-26 20:42:15

I wonder if the go fund me is in crypto currency?

Galaxy Sat 26-Sept-26 20:52:51

There have actually been a number of peaceful protests and I would argue that the people of Piddington have been treated simply as racists. Nobody can be surprised at the escalation. As I have said before I am beginning to be grateful for reform as they are providing some sort of barrier against something much worse. This has been more than a decade in the making.

Jaxjacky Sat 26-Sept-26 21:18:23

I don’t agree with you Galaxy but as it gives you comfort, fair enough.

LemonJam Sat 26-Sept-26 21:26:14

I also don't agree with Galaxy.

Primrose53 Sat 26-Sept-26 21:29:02

I DO agree with Galaxy. is there going to be a poll? 😉🤣

I am beginning to be grateful for Reform as they are providing some sort of barrier against something much worse.

How does that accord with Reform’s support for Thomas?

Following the CPS announcement that Thomas has been charged, Reform’s deputy leader Richard Tice defended him claiming that he was “doing the job the police and border force should be doing”.

Had the French coastguard officials not been there, Thomas would likely have left the debris of a deflated rib floating in the Channel where it would have been a danger to other shipping especially at night.

He tried to prevent French officials from doing their job which is to seize the boat, returning it to French shore where it would be destroyed safely to prevent reuse.

... well, we know that Galaxy! grin

Dickens Sat 26-Sept-26 22:46:41

... I do think however that both Tory and Labour governments have to a degree disregarded the reality of the-life-lived (Oh crumbs, I have to be so careful how I phrase this) by ordinary citizens in a very divided nation that imposes on certain sections of it - the more deprived - from a perspective of being inside a bubble...

Maremia Sun 27-Sept-26 07:19:19

Interesting to know what you consider to be 'worse' than Reform, Galaxy?

Galaxy Sun 27-Sept-26 07:44:12

Civil unrest on a regular basis.

MaizieD Sun 27-Sept-26 08:16:38

Galaxy

Civil unrest on a regular basis.

But we already have that and Reform isn’t doing anything to reduce the tensions?

I, too, am puzzled by your belief that it is a ‘barrier against something much worse’ as ‘something much worse’ ia already happening. It could equally be argued that Reform has incited it…

Galaxy Sun 27-Sept-26 09:32:41

No the unrest was already there, many people have been pointing this out for quite a long time.

Graphite Sun 27-Sept-26 09:49:59

Tice has never been the sharpest but he’s moaning about how quickly Thomas was arrested and charged. I'm sure he does understand how the legal system works so why post stuff like that other than to incite?

Considering how much trouble he’s in having used his company as a vehicle to move fraudster George Cottrell’s money into Reform and currently under investigation with the Met, perhaps he had better take a refresher on how it works.

For a balanced ledger on what left and right have or haven’t done post-war for working class people, I recommend Russ Jackson’s excellent analysis here:

x.com/docrussjackson/status/2101327456372183193

Extract:

Widespread political illiteracy is not a new phenomenon in Britain. What has changed in recent years is the sophistication and reach of the project persuading working-class voters, and working-class white men in particular, that the political tradition built specifically to represent their material interests is instead their enemy: an out-of-touch, “woke,” anti-white establishment more interested in identity politics than in them.

Some of this is manufactured grievance. Some of it is a separate, real argument about culture that a legislative ledger cannot settle on its own. It’s worth setting out the material record first, because on that record the ledger is not ambiguous.

Who is manufacturing the grievance?

😂😂

Galaxy Sun 27-Sept-26 09:53:32

Of course the middle class cant possibly be manipulated, I mean they haven't nodded along with a range of half baked lunacy for the past few years. In fact half of that paragraph is indicative of their love of slogans and their contempt for the working class.

Galaxy Sun 27-Sept-26 09:55:07

I wont be winning any poll after that last post smile

LemonJam Sun 27-Sept-26 10:00:22

Civil disorder in the uK has increased over recent years with more toxic division. As far as I can see far right activists like Yaxley-Lennon, Thomas manufacture grievance, incite protest that breaches the law and add to civil disorder and making things worse.

Reform and Restore show they are supportive and Farage is no stranger to personally manufacturing grievance for his won political ambitions either. Any solutions he puts forward are unworkable and not well thought through. If anyone can give any proposal that actually would work for example in reducing the number of asylum seekers coming to the UK- Id be surprised but read with interest.

All of the above are making things worse rather than trying to make things better as far as I can see.
