The EU has shuttled back on Ukraines membership and has let it be known to Zelensky that they are cooling.

Is this Johnson thinking he has some clout? If I was Zelensky I would not welcome Johnson’s interference.

I read that Zelensky is working on this. There's been a whole slew of sackings and 'resignations' recently.

I imagine Zelensky was obliged to do that by Western financial donors - a serious amount of money is going into the country and they don't want it embezzled. No doubt that will be another scandal for the future - along the lines of Iraq.

He knows it would take some 10 years to process Ukraine - there are others in the queue, the EU would face massive reconstruction costs for Ukraine and poorer countries like Portugal would become net contributors rather than beneficiaries.
